Already working on it, any ex d1 wrestlers who’ve got any tips on how to cut weight faster with few resources? I’m looking to pack at least 95% of my OG weight after the weigh in, need to chug 7L of water couple days before but that’s light work, dehydration is light work for me
    Any other tips?

eliminate processed foods, cut down on sugary/alcoholic drinks, some form of cardio each day.

Weightlifting is also excellent at cutting weight believe it or not.

Already on a diet, but i always walk around at the same weight post-taking a s***, coach said dehydration will do the trick but I’m unsure because I’m on short notice, used to have 2 months of prep

i'm no expert dude, but i was at my leanest when i was drinking mostly water and cutting out sugar and processed meat. I went down to something like 5% body fat but that's due to running 80 miles a month haha.

I think that diet is more important than exercise, personally

He’s not trying to just cut fat, he’s trying to make a weigh in. Similar but not necessarily the same thing.

Once you begin a diet dropping 10 lbs of water weight quick isn’t necessarily unheard of, but if you’ve alrwady been dieting than you won’t get that quick easy drop

Your best bet would be doing a PSMF diet, dropping down to about 800 calories a day of just chicken breasts and broccoli, and take some fish oils. If you’re lucky you can shed about 8lbs of fat and then just dehydrate the rest out the last few days

  • fasting might be the only way to cut that fast man

Don’t mean to take away from the thread, but there’s probably a lot of people here that are knowledgeable about this kinda stuff, but what would be anyone’s advice for doing the opposite? I can’t gain weight for the life of me and am underweight! My advice for loosing weight, which i am good at lol is just eat a big meal later in the day instead of lots of meals. Drink coffee if it doesnt make you anxious. Eat stuff like eggs for breakfast. Smoothies throughout the day to fill you up.

  • Eat less

  • Stop eating.

  • When I lost a lot of weight in the past I just worked out in some form (cardio or weight lifting) every day and only ate 3 ~600 calorie meals per day, with no other food of calories.
I lost about 10 pounds a month and kept it off until Covid f***ed everything up with that system.

You need a nutrition coach. Dehydrating yourself to make weight for a fight/match needs proper programming or you can f*** up your health permanently.

Lift weights and exercise consistently (using more energy will make you more hungry, which means you'll be eating more)

Eat at a caloric surplus (there are online calculators to help tell you how many calories you should be eating)

Use the supplement creatine daily (adds water weight, good for muscle growth and nervous system, helps fill you out)

My coach is practically everything to me (huh), boxing, wrestling, nutrition and endurance
We’ve been doing this since I was 15 so I get the trick and honestly it’s really hard to f*** up if you’ve done it so many times unless you’re supposed to die that day
