I heard UX Design is tough and you need a really good portfolio to stand out.
Health Informatics is really good especially if you come from a nursing background.
I've already had two internships in UX so I was just asking moreso if i were to pivot

oh my bad, i skimmed thru too fast(ADHD)
You're already in the right path with the internships. I'm not sure where you're from, but Volunteermatch helps with finding organizations you can work with that need UX designs and you can work on diff projects in the meantime.

I’m asking for the salary band for data science
What engineering?
Engineering is so much better than IT/Data Science fields esp if its Civil or Mech.
I wish i did engineering.
Mech e, just finished a 6 month internship switching to comp sci
anyone a Business Intelligence A***yst?
currently doing data a***ytics but got told to apply to this position opening up by my boss. it would be a pay increase and i would be doing more actual a***ytical work

i officially started monday so haven’t got into the work yet. however, in my previous role i was doing data a***ysis as well, but it was more chill and entry level compared to this so i liked it a lot. basically just took data sets and built reports / dashboards
this new role im kind of scared of tbh lol. seems way more in depth and time intensive. kind of like, work until the job is done kind of thing. im just happy for the experience and the fact that i can use the title for other jobs down the line (hopefully)

What kind of background did you have for you previous data job?
And as for the new job, don't be scared. You need to take risks and learn new skills. This new position is your ladder for career advancement as well as pay.
I tell myself now not to get comfortable, whether in life in general or at job. You need to switch jobs and experience new roles that's how you going to advance in your career and reach 100k+ salary.

yeah that’s my main goal and why i decided to make the jump. the title and the experience will help me make more money ultimately in the end
and for background i had an economics background for schooling, so i learned a few things in statistics, and also excel / data a***yzing skills. but everything else came from being on the job. i built tools for myself and others and displayed i was good at technology and learning. was able to get that data job and that’s where i learned most of my skills now (powerbi/dax, SQL). also personal learning at home (python).
so really it was just an uphill climb learning and proving myself as i go.
i def didn’t take the traditional path. i didn’t even go back to school until 26.

Interesting, I’m also Ecom graduate and took breaks from school and then finally transferred to a 4 year school when I was 25-26 and graduated at 28.
I’m doing data a***ytics apprenticeship right now at night through zoom and we’re going to learn sql, tableau, excel, python and r as far as I remember. Also required to finish google data a***ytics professional certification. Hopefully that will get me a job in data a***ytics or something related.
And good for you man, that new role will only benefit you. Have to make jumps and take chances to get better jobs and pay.
Should I just get a data science degree instead of this? This institution doesn’t have an actual computer science degree, just whatever this is. I don’t really like this degree but only focusing on it cus it should ideally transition into a CS degree when I transfer to a better university to finish my bachelors
Good data science textbooks/pdfs?
Working as a python automation engineer with a math degree, and curious about going back for a ms is data science but wanna learn more of it first.
Did a udemy course on it a couple years ago but want more of a deep dive.
what’s the salary band for this?
im studying informatics (basically the study, design, and execution of information technology) but im going into ux design but i know sql/python/ statistics already so it shouldn’t be too hard to pivot
Depends
also do people have portfolios or how do ppl show their work
also how do interviews work for this field do u just do coding challenge or something
Also depends
