Yep and that's good. You don't ever want to be good enough. Gotta keep evolving.
You're just in the period where everything you make sucks but it'll click eventually
but for that to happen you have to get off cudi's d*** i'm sorry. good luck.
Yep, this happened to me a lot initially, but then I realized that the things I produced were too centered on how I thought another person would make it rather than myself. This can occur unconsciously as well while you're kind of fading off in imagination while creating something.
What started off as making 5-6 beats a day slowed down until maybe making just a melody in 24 hours before getting to drums.
Basically, I started trying to reflect on what I want to be distinguishable for and with, before attempting to grind out a bunch of things at once (leading into similar-sounding productions with creativity stretched and thinned out).
After realizing that, the product amount went from one melody in 24 hours to maybe 2 beats a day. Even though that may not be more than what was made before, it's a lot more centered on my own imagination and vibe. This makes me feel more comfortable than ever.
yeah there's this one thing on IG where someone explains the artistic gap being between your art and the art you like. the smaller the gap is, the better your music becomes. it takes time tho for sure. like I just recently put out s*** that I personally would want to listen to
I think everybody feels this way, and I think feeling this way is how you improve your craft because you always want to do better.
Making music, I used to compare myself to other local musicians and disliking my music. I find myself doing a lot less of that and more comparing it to artists I actually want to listen to. I imagine even the most talented musicians will find music that makes them think “damn this makes my music look like s*** in comparison”.
About to cook a couple beats real quick
Can some of y’all slide through and maybe follow please

I’m a content writer. I rarely show anyone my writings.
I’ve noticed creatives are extremely hard on themselves

Yeah but that wore off
I naturally got better at things in time and even when things arent up to par i appreciate it for the simple fact i know what i made is unique and nobody could ever replicate my essence

When you say content writer do you mean like, a magazine columnist ?
This is my best advice:
MAKE IT FOR YOURSELF.
IF YOU LOVE IT, F*** ANYTHING ANYONE HAS TO SAY.
naw the one part of my life that i'm very arrogant about is anything i make
i take criticism bad too
Are you still trying to be a vocalist too on your beats? Or do you just wanna make beats for others now? If it’s the latter, find somebody to work with
