So since the Elon twitter thing I have seen some s***ty replacement app get shilled Tribel or some s***. I heard Jack from twitter was developing BlueSky but its not even in beta, and then on random corners of twitter I would see mentions of Mastodon. Google tells me it is essentially exactly what Jack wants BlueSky to be.

Do you not know how Twitter started? It was originally seen as silly for a regular person to tweet, it was perceived as something only celebrities "should" be doing, and eventually that went away. The celebrities are what made people attracted to it in the first place.
Also, sidenote, it's so funny to see someone say they're "doing their Googles" in regards to this type of discussion, as if that's valid research. It's ultimately the same entity running all of these companies. So yeah, do your Googles. Find out everything they want you to know about themselves. You're being fed (double entendre).

As far as doing my googles, yeah it told me that this is a decentralized system that is meant to get around corporate ads and control and you get control of your feed and data.
