@Water_Giver @survival_horror honestly, i’ll take any advice i can get whether it’s too broad or specific. i’m sorta new to all of this and i have a general idea on what sound i want; i just haven’t taken it as seriously up until very recently so it’s no sweat

thats what i was assuming
my main advice personally, if you are still very green, find out about the tools generally used and then experiement there - getting too technical or too narrow might overwhelm or just suggest things you geniunely dont know yet - which was also part of my og assumption/point
you be surprised how many people try producing for a few years and still dont know the very basic general tools and chains that is commonly used and it will fix/solve/achieve most of their aspirations and ideas
the less gate keeping or over complicating the "basic" and the things used 90 percent of the time in any genre has always been a major goal for me and what my tutor taught and showed to me plus i did a lot of self research myself in person and online since i was 14 and took it seriously when i was 19
i wish u luck

admittedly, i’ve approached ableton and FL studio as a toy/ glorified metronome to experiment with different synths and drum kits; not as an actual tool to craft songs and design sounds.
now that i’ve got my head out of my ass and realized this, i think im ready to test the waters
thank you btw

when i get the chance i'll post an example of my own work of a dry reg drum pattern and how much it can be transformed into a more interesting and "real" sounding oucome, ive done similar stuff like this for people in ktt1 and here on ktt2 i have entire threads dedicated to it and i plus others have helped a lot of people out
such as this is an example of the "pulsing jump in and out effect" i did for someone on here:
and no problem! i am not classically trained, the most technical verbage talking nor am i a professor but i know enough that gets me by enough and can get the point across my own way which has been one of my strengths as well, plus i am not at all for gate keeping or over complicating the basic
the "beginning" always feels long and tiredsome but it is def worth and will feel like a flash in the pan once you reach the end

needed this fr. i get intimidated whenever i see a mixer cuz of routing signals and s***, but i realize that takes time…no need to rush the process just take it as you go
