Wdym not polite? I have two brothers with autism, and they cant cue into social stuff like saying thanks, or offering their seat but its cuz they werent thinking to, not out of spite
yeab i agree but @op saying that a lot of normal people in society would assume its out of spite and then consider the autistic person rude or disrespectful
and then feel stupid when they learn the truth
deadass think ye might have a touch of it.
Might lol the sad part is when he said he was bipolar everyone was like “ he schizophrenic I knew it” cause they slow

Not saying thanks or not offering a seat is not a****** behavior. That’s normal social cues he might not pick up on. Op could have just said it diffrent but if that’s due to him not understanding exactly what a****** behavior is then that’s understandable. Which I was trying to understand but he never clarified
am i missing something why is everyone calling op a d***
cause he is self aware of how he doesnt always offer his seat for old people and knows autism is a reason for it, therefore people itt blaming @op for being rude when he doesnt need to but he does need to because thats how his brain works + he isnt being rude on purpose lmao
people itt soft af

when people consider u an a****** behind ur back because they collected a few of ur autistic tendencies, it's mad confusing to an autistic person when those people present it back to u as "u being disrespectful" when u never meant to be disrespectful at all
the a****** behavior is subjective to the witness because people dont share all of the same social cues
for example a lot of abrasive hood types of guys, and abrasive hockey player frat dudes wouldnt be as offended by an autistic person's actions but a 50 year old wealthy Karen might be the MOST offended person around, right?
all in all autistic people 99% of the time arent being rude on purpose EVEN if they are aware of it, it's not something that can be easily controlled otherwise they wouldnt be autistic...
I was diagnosed with aspergers as a toddler but its so mild im probably on the very edge of the spectrum
I got a crippling case of ADHD. It’s not autism but i’m neurodivergent i guess.
Aspergers has always left a bad taste in my mouth because I knew a guy when I was in middle school who would just flat out bully me and when he was called out on it he would blame it on his "aspergers", when in actuality his diagnosis was extremely mild and he knew exactly what he was doing. I do know actual people with autism and they are pretty cool.

I understand this but op said he didn’t confirm which means he understands what should happen in certain situations but chooses not to do so. Again I’m not mad or trying to clown I really wanna understand if he genuinely just chooses not to do certain things because it feels weird for him to do so (which he said earlier) or just because like in most cases like you presented they just don’t pick up on why it’s rude/impolite. Not conforming means you understand but choose willingly to go against it.

exactly, OP knowingly is being a d*** and then uses his disability as an excuse to continue being a d***.

Yea that guy was just an a******. Having aspergers will make social situations more difficult but there's no excuse for negative behavior like bullying

what did i do that was being a d***
Imagine getting offended when someone isn’t “polite”
old people will say some dumb s*** like you gotta take your hat off inside to be polite then say something racist a minute later
being ed isnt an excuse for being stupid
Emotionally disturbed kids, ED, I have worked with have been some smart kids. They simply suffers from trauma or other defects.

Exactly, homie literally slammed me into a door one day walking out of middle school and it got caught on security cams and they didn't do anything bc he pulled the autism card
