Y’all got to chill using autism as an insult or to clown people
Wdym not polite? I have two brothers with autism, and they cant cue into social stuff like saying thanks, or offering their seat but its cuz they werent thinking to, not out of spite

I’m cool with this guy who’s clinically high functioning. He has a real hard time pick up on social cues and comes off as an a****** half the time. It’s clear he doesn’t intend to, he just has an incredibly hard time realizing it. I’m sure we’ve all said s*** we never meant and regretted it, this guy has to deal with that every day. He’s still a nice person over all, and has shown empathy plenty of times, but sometimes he just says some outlandish s***. It is what it is, telling him “just be nice” wouldn’t be much different from telling a depressed person to “just get over yourself”

Well yes what you saying is 100% on social cues or going too far but op simplification doesn’t help someone that knows nothing of autism understand it isn’t just being rude

exactly
i bet there are so many people out there who are high-functioning and don't even know it i think it's one of the biggest things that goes under the radar because if you were tested for it you could jump through their hopes so to speak, or you are so adjusted at pretending to be someone neurotypical you could beat the test via that route.
