I think that's the whole point of a career is. Especially early on, it should be all you think about

I know you don’t have a life or career so you couldn’t possibly comprehend

I have a career and it’s a brainrotted take ibr. You don’t have to make compromises that extreme

I have a career but much more importantly I have a LIFE. Sounds like you’re the one that struggles with the latter.
I can’t imagine cucking myself into devoting all my mental energy into f***ing work of all things as opposed to all the wonderful things that actually make life worth living

When you have a career, there is no off switch when you leave the building or close the laptop. There are problems you'll be thinking about, discussions that might come up with your partner / family / friends about work, things you are excited about your future self and where you want to be etc. All while having a separate life outside work
But yeah let's pretend we only think about work at work
im a software engineer im gonna work on a side project just need to think of something. lately i started reviewing candles on tiktok and i wanna see how large i can grow it its nice
Damn, sounds dope
Since my career revolves around a type of viewpoint of the world I see everything in the lens of it
It's helpful most the time but I have to make myself stop a***yzing everything everyone does

I get what you're saying but work life balance is really important. Idk what you do but it sounds like maybe office work and I would hate to be stuck thinking about that a lot personally
I have a friend who says he loves his job but theres a ton of complaining when he can't get his mind off it.
I don’t have that problem at all thank god
At work, all I think about is what I’m gonna do after work
After work, all I think about is what I should’ve done at work
Fml

not saying that other dude is right, but i think there’s certain professions/careers that will heavily impact the way you view life in every aspect, no matter what. like a doctor for example

You’re my man so I don’t wanna argue like that but this is a sure shot way to get massively burned out or have stress related issues. In this day and age there must not be any reason for a job to stress you out, as long as it allows for it
You’re getting punked every step of the way under the system so being able to get at least some benefits without it burdening you mentally is insanely important. Hell, even my managers who should be these evil exploiters are constantly telling me how I should prioritize my comfort long-term and never say no to days off and pto, check in if I’m at capacity, not go on slack after hours, etc

Being a doctor is a tough goddamn deal and to this day I do not know what drives people to go through this hell of a career
