Coming up I remember brushing off everything they were saying as dust and outdated and championing for my era instead (Lil Pump, Lil Yachty saying f*** Tupac etc) but with the recent events of 6ix9ine and looking at the landscape of rap I’m starting to realize they had a point.

Listening to classic albums like Ready to Die, OB4CL, Illmatic the soundscapes and poetry displayed on these albums are light years ahead of the fast food music being put out today

I guess the moral of the story is to always listen to your elders

If Kendrick dropped that song people would be calling him a messiah. His message was 100% accurate

Na they been saying that s*** for so long and I been fw rappers old heads been trashing since early Wayne early cud and early drake to early thug more recently.

Wayne was hated so much by old heads back in the day when everyone hated the south and refused to acknowledge he was the BRA they always just hate new s***.

Honestly the one rapper that old heads were wrong for hating on was Uzi cause he can actually rap. And the fact that he makes music that promotes dancing heavily is very traditional of old hip-hop. Dude just dresses and looks goofy sometimes.

But I mean...we did have Shock G/Digital Underground and a song called "The Humpty Dance" at one point. So maybe Uzi ain't that different after all
