Okay now I’m stuck between pulling the trigger on the 13” Pro 512GB, 16GB or waiting on the 14” which might come next year
I have a 2018 so it’s not like it has to go or something, I’m just hella hype for Apple Silicon lmao
Hold on to your ‘18 until the next gen silicon release
My job just gave me a 2019 16 inch MBP with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB for work
Even more incentive to sell my personal Macbook and cop a Mac mini because I normally keep my laptop docked at home anyway

Nice setup. What's your line of work?

Get the Air to hold you over until next year and then sell it and buy the 16". That's (probably) what I'm doing

I work for my alma mater creating marketing videos for various departments on campus. So pretty much say the history department wants videos done for their page, I’m usually the one assigned to film and edit them.

Ahhh that's really cool man
This s*** is just a beta test. Apple is designing products to fail these days.

Yeah, I worked with them my senior year for an on campus job and I was good enough for them to hire me full time right after graduation. Lucked out in that sense

That's dope though, they gave you immediate stability in an environment you were already comfortable in. Do you enjoy it?

I do. I don’t plan on being here forever but for the time being it’s nice
lol

Thank you, Mr. Sankara
M1 only supports 1 Thunderbolt controller and has limited IO
so Apple is leaving the 4 Thunderbolt port MBP 13 Inch up with the Intel chips
makes me think we are a few months away from them replacing those with a 12 Core M1X that supports 2 Controllers and has more IO throughput
I think this Chip will also be in the base MBP 16 Inch and then they'll maybe have a 16 Core M1Z in the upgraded 16 Inch
They'll use these chips in the iMacs & iMac Pro also
Maybe we'll see the 12 core products earlier Next year and the 16 Core stuff later on
think we could see a 12 Core Mini with more Thunderbolt Ports and 10GBe also
seems like there is so much room comparing it to the old lineup for more upgraded models
the RAM is built into the CPU/SOC because of that the lower end M1 won't ever have more than 16GB imo but these higher end ones should have 32GB and 64GB
these Pro machines will need more RAM now that they don't have any VRAM because the GPU is on the SOC
Watching now. Cannot believe they just bragged about gaming on the f***ing Air
Also, as soon as i saw a touch bar on the new macbook pro...instantly disappointed
tf are they doing?
Also..."STILL" just $1299? Wasnt one of the supposed benefits of switching to in house silicon that it would drop the price a little?
Omg the pc guy commercial callback at the end is big mode corny
