You mean in regards to mortgages and s***?

Yeah. Charging interest is making money off an individual putting a roof over their head - are you against this as well?

Well ideally this isnt something that would have to be paid for lol but I mean we spend 700 billion on the military, giving everyone a home costs about 20-40 billion. The money is there

Not being willfully dense here but is owning rental properties inherently evil or something nowadays ?

I remember this being a thing around the time Hannibal got “outed” (feels weird saying that given he has openly discussed it) as an Airbnb host but thought it was just a meme.

EDIT: nvm I read through the whole thread

yes. its probably a bit more than that in terms of modernizing them, repairing current public housing etc, but overall the cost is small. the 20 billion figure also comes directly from the department of housing/urban development.

Thanks for stating the source, could you post the article bc there’s literally no way you could effectively house everyone in America for 100 bucks a person

"Mark Johnston, the acting assistant housing secretary for community planning and development, estimated that homelessness could be effectively eradicated in the United States at an annual cost of about $20 billion. The housing department’s budget for addressing homelessness is currently about $1.9 billion"

not really an article to it, although the statement appears in various in various sources. its really not as expensive a problem as you think. and you aren't housing everyone lol, not everyone is homeless.
