Some people have been waiting for this Kendrick-Drake beef for close to a decade, and now it’s being muddied up with stans making fake diss tracks, it’s so bad to the point that any new snippets of music at all period starts a long winded debate as to whether or not it’s AI or not, and it looks like it’s gonna be the new normal.

Are some of you ready to admit that it’s a bit of a problem, and should probably be regulated or what?

It's wack, kills any originality, and all creativity is poured into the wrong path, as far as what drake did, I just don't know if a artist on his level should be doing that

with the new Drake song it's clear that he's using a voice filter to sound like Pac/Snoop - it's not actually them

It's an issue when a song/snippet leaks and we don't know if it's Drake/Kendrick/Kanye etc or some random in a basement mimicing their style and applying a filter.

its not just music , someone can use AI to frame someone saying some illegal s*** , some pedo s*** , anything really, and ruin lives and careers

i dont think its realistic to really control AI, i mean the cats out the bag theres nothing we could do to completely remove AI from the equation

for instance all i need to do to train a model is go on huggingface or github, find some code for a particular model type, get the data, and train it

you'd have to remove either the technical ability to train models (i.e. limit graphics card capabilities, which is stupid) or remove the code (which is also stupid because code is very cheap to transfer since most scripts are less than a megabyte)

obviously you cant remove the data, anyone could always find ways to get data to train a model, it doesnt make sense

and if you make legal penalties for using AI other countries would probably just allow it to proliferate and lap the US or the first world in scientific capabilities in future years. AI will undoubtedly bring a revolution in science as it already is doing so. its also hard to define what AI is, is all machine learning AI or is it just transformers/neural networks?

side note: AI is actually really useful and valuable for many reasons. theres no way we are going to make it illegal except for in the case of copyright infringement or deepfakes, which will probably not be that hard to get around

How about the artists involved just immediately release the song in an official capacity instead of "leaking" a low quality rip that could easily be faked? Really simple
