I didnt care if it was fake or not. thats the difference -- I found out it was fake and moved on with my life, these dorks are writing essays and having meltdowns about it.

if youre a rapper and you can't compete with a computer that sounds like a skill issue to me, I can't be bothered to freak out about it.

AI is fine when its clear it's AI

with the new Drake song it's clear that he's using a voice filter to sound like Pac/Snoop - it's not actually them

It's an issue when a song/snippet leaks and we don't know if it's Drake/Kendrick/Kanye etc or some random in a basement mimicing their style and applying a filter.

i dont think its realistic to really control AI, i mean the cats out the bag theres nothing we could do to completely remove AI from the equation

The idea of regulating it is extremely dangerous

All that does is limits who can use the technology to the labels and connected people

    Is that what we want?

Can it be? No. It just can’t be.

people consume art bc they like the fact that it came from an artist. thats still gonna be a huge part of our culture no matter how good AI gets.

i think a lot of u who unilaterally s*** on AI in art are just repeating what twitter told u was right. it can be an immensely useful tool for artists, and I genuinely dont think the dowsides will be as serious as ppl make them out to be

There are people denying that AI is terrible for art?

They really sound crazy. People so consumed with this stupid rap beef that what makes art art just doesn’t matter anymore apparently

God damnit. So many in educated people itt on this subject matter.

Recorces that everyone should look into regarding this stuff specifically artistically

    • John Rafman. JR is one of the greats modern artists of the 22st century and has a beautiful understanding and grappling with ai in art and it's use on subjectivity.

    • Interdependence Podcast. Holly Herndon and Matt Dryhurst break this stuff down so well and are people who both love and play with ai as well as advocating for guard rails

    • Do Not Research. DNR runs in the same circles at Interdependsnce pod and has lots of cross over research

I'm not gonna argue anymore with people on this site about this s***. Either you do your research or you don't. It's clear most here don't. Which is fine but it makes for terrible conversations and debates regarding Ai in the arts.

The forces of production shouldn’t be regulated. Accelerate the development of AI and have it replace unnecessary jobs.

That’s what they want you to think imo

They want you to fear it so that you will willingly hand over control to the powers that be

Them being the only one with the tech is much more dangerous

Nah idk where you got that one

Most people consume music because they think the artist is attractive or they relate to the way they market or present themselves. Most people don’t consume art for arts sake, it’s just an extension of parasocial relationships/celebrity worship for a majority
