Crazy how nobody has provided a solid reason for why it isn’t a classic
They can’t. It meets every metric critically, commercially, awards won etc
LOVE is probably my favorite song on there, only one I think is just 'good' is LOYALTY. Still a nice song tho
i fw loyalty tbh
tell me who you loyal to
They can’t. It meets every metric critically, commercially, awards won etc
Don't use validation from cacs please I'm begging you

I would argue that it’s one of the best pop rap records ever
If the argument is brought up that it isn’t being listened to then yes. That’s not what makes it a classic it proves that people still play the song
People listening to it doesn't make it a classic?
People listening to it doesn't make it a classic?
People listening to a song makes it popular it doesn’t not make the song a classic.
Don't use validation from cacs please I'm begging you
Common and Joe Budden black enough for you? They both consider it a classic as well.
Never did
Classic
KTT gone keep acting like Kendrick didn’t just come and rewrite the history of Hip-Hop with DAMN
fear is honestly one of the best rap songs ever
They can’t. It meets every metric critically, commercially, awards won etc
Every metric except being sonically pleasing and cultural impact
fear is honestly one of the best rap songs ever
Any black persons / person with a strict mom would agree.
People listening to a song makes it popular it doesn’t not make the song a classic.
People listening to it 3 years later doesn't make it a classic?
If we remove that people listening to it then what would make it a classic.
XXX. is in my opinion Kendrick's deepest and most meaningful song he's ever put out. 3 different arcs in the story showing the hypocrisy all of us humans have yet in a sense it's justified hypocrisy. his homie looks up to him as someone who is spiritually in tune so kendrick is the one he calls when his son his killed. Kendrick knows what the "right" advice is which is to tell him to turn the other cheek but that's just not in our nature (especially if you're from Compton) Kendrick keeps it real saying f*** that lets keep the peace s*** I've been saying, if somebody kill my son they gonna have to die as well (hence the cycle of violence continues.) Right after telling him this he has to go speak at the anti violence/gun control convention, showing the hypocrisy but most of all, showing how human he is and how it would be great if all violence would end, but unfortunately that's just not the world we live in.
This song came out at the perfect time with trump being impeached. I’ve always been so confused at how Trump can have any following at all; this song helped me see that it’s a symptom of America’s inability to see itself for what it’s become & our willingness to give in to our base desires (sins essentially). We have forgotten that we wanted to love those that are different than us; be a sanctuary to the beaten and the “damned”. It’s easier to hate our so-called “enemy” (anyone unfamiliar or different; whoever Fox News tells us to hate) and give in to the vices that the Trump administration represents. Kendrick made this phenomenon less confusing for me...we can pull out of this if we can truly see ourselves for what we are. "This country is to be a sound of drum and bass you close your eyes to look around" "Americas reflections of me, that's what a mirror (ameria) does"
Common and Joe Budden black enough for you? They both consider it a classic as well.
Common and Joe Budden's opinion honestly do not matter to me, both of them switched up on Drake so they're fickle as hell
People listening to it doesn't make it a classic?
All classic albums are popular to some degree, but not all popular albums are classic
Any black persons / person with a strict mom would agree.
im a white guy with a nice mom and i think it's an amazing track lol
LOVE is probably my favorite song on there, only one I think is just 'good' is LOYALTY. Still a nice song tho
The features were the best parts of both songs
People listening to it 3 years later doesn't make it a classic?

I was referencing the song in comparison with the album being a classic. All popular songs aren’t classic. A lot of non popular songs are classics.
Just because Humble is popular that doesn’t make DAMN a classic.
