I am a US citizen, for one, so it's not that my life matters more but that I am more concerned for domestic policies which could affect me than I am with foreign policies that do not affect me. Obviously I am against the genocide in Gaza, but not to the extent that I will literally vote or not-vote against my own self-interest

and idk wtf kind of point you were even trying to make with the prison comment. kinda reeks of transphobia but I'm gonna let it pass without reporting. I think you know what I was actually saying and are just being deliberately obtuse at best.

Im a member of PSL so id rather vote with a party I overall can articulate the message to other people and align most with

Voting third party doesn’t matter at this point anyways outside of spreading awareness and messaging and further disrupting two party duopoly so it’s not like communists efforts are all put into the outcome of bourgeois parliaments

I don't vote but if there was ever a point where it did matter it would be now ... Jill Stein is hovering around 5% and gaining national votes above that threshold will give GP access to millions in public funds

If you know that the only way out is to build political power entirely independent from the establishment, then what makes the PSL party line any more meaningfully compatible for Communists than whoever between Stein/West/DLC is projected to garner the most votes on November 5th?

PSL has had pretty solid messaging so far from my perspective

I’m not too deep into electoralism and all that with the calculating what small marginal percentage has the best chance to do something but i’d feel right about writing in the psl candidate if i were going to vote this year

They're going to have the least ballot access out of any of the three candidates. They've shown up in virtually 0 polls state by state. Out of the three candidates, it's the purest example of LARP and self-satisfaction.

It's not the result of your political position that’s important, it’s how your position fulfills a purely abstract criteria that’s important. Obviously this should be applied to a much deeper context when interrogating electoralism but I don't know how a communist could say that they'd be less effective in communicating Jill Stein's politics than Claudia De La Cruz/Karina Garcia, the ladder of whom are sub-par public speakers and speech givers themselves.

Trump ain’t gonna be better for the Palestinians. In fact, he’s gonna be worse.

no one thinks trump will be better for palestine, that's never the point anyone is making. i find it funny that whenever someone expresses their displeasure with how biden is handling palestine the response from libs is "trump is gonna be so much worse!!" as if biden isn't already giving israel unlimited weapons, unlimited funding, repeating israeli talking points and lies in the media and overall unequivocally supporting israel in every possible way. the only push back the biden admin offers is memo's saying "we are concerned about the reports of x" but those are completely meaningless when they're followed up by another israeli aid package like 72 hrs later, which they usually are. so unless you really value cosmetic reports of concern or want to jump to nuclear fear mongering, there is no way that trump is "worse", it'd be the same as it is now

  • May 23, 2024

Sure, Project 2025 sounds f***ing horrific.

Literally only solace you can find is the fact that Trump and everyone around him are so consistently incompetent that maybe a lot of it won’t ever see the light of day in terms of actual implementation, but still, I’d personally prefer not to find out, especially as someone who lives in a state like Texas.

It doesn’t, no third party candidate has a viable chance of winning, that isn’t PSL’s goal in running in elections

Cornel West has some positions I disagree with him on and he’s been caught receiving money from GOP donors, I he may be a good progressive alternative to pull votes from Biden but I don’t take him that seriously as a political opponent.

If anyone wants to vote Green, Cornel, or any leftist alternative then it’s still better than going for Biden. The party system continues to lose legitimacy but there is no way a third party will actually take power right now so I’d tell people to go find an area of struggle they care about to organize around rather than think your vote for PSL or Green Party or Cornel will fundamentally matter more than another

frankly I find the both-sides types to be the most frustrating people. don't even get me started on not voting for Biden out of protest for Gaza

Downplaying Gaza as an issue is nasty work

youre just doing what the biden cultists are doing, but from "the left". the election is not this important.

communists are going to vote for communists, this is self-evident. just vote for who you want.

I'm not even voting. Literally spoke with a Stein canvasser last week that got upset w me bc I wouldn't give him my signature.

You should be directing your criticism at the communist candidate in question that is only able to distinguish herself from Stein by way of vacuous sloganeering, and the cultists from PSL who are a cancer to the left on the local and national level.

I'm not voting for De La Cruz so youre wasting your breath. But also I dont blame people who do, youre sort of attaching more importance to this than their needs to be.

e: wait youre not even voting but youre berating people for not voting for jill stein? bro go clean your house or something, youre obviously just bored and looking to argue online lol.
