I have no problem giving reparations to direct descendants of slaves. What systemic & generational change would giving $ alone do that fixes systemic segregation and underfunding of education in redlined black/Hispanic communities though? Cash in hand alone does not solve the systemic effects of slavery, racism etc. The same way firing one cop doesn’t fix the systemic problem of police brutality.

We never had the needs to manage and we were never given proper education on how to manage and spend our money. We didnt even learn taxes in school bro.

not at all but within the scope of the damage the U.S has inflicted on black people white people are in full knowledge that they owe us literally everything and that's why in turn they will give nothing.

My great grandmother watched her mother get raped and killed in front of her siblings by a white dude. Early 1900s. Did they get s***? Nope. My grandma was 6. Had a second grade education. And still found a way to flip a hustle. By the time she was in her 20s she was sitting first row at boxing matches. But here's the thing tho, not every black person is the same. You cant expect or assume that every black person would do the same as you.

One may flip it and then another might blow it, and then another might buy land.

But the fact that even a portion of black people would blow it and give it back to the white people is a problem, and the mishandling of money is a BIG issue in the black community. So if a portion of black people blow that money, then what. Cant even blame them because of systematic issues.

Systematic issues are affecting us TODAY where only throwing money at the issue wont do anything, 400 years later. Those other communities that have recieve reparations werent affected the way black people were and recieved them more immediately

Yeah we cant come to an agreement and both sides have their own issues. But I'm definitely more on the side of putting toward the community because we as black people have an issue on how we spend our money. We were never educated how to by the system

I'm not too sure about this so dont quote me on it, but with the "reparations" of native americans, a lot of the money was mismanaged and did little for them in the long run. I feel the same could easily happen to black people

Going by this logic tbh certain communities deserve it more than others. The lesser educated and more poverty stricken regions ex. a place like Mississippi with the most concentration of black people but worst education and poor areas need that s*** more than ever
