Ohh I feel u, I was confused if u were talking about money being sent to people there or if u was talking investing in the community out there
NYT just came out with a very compelling article arguing for reparations. The article does a great job putting into context hundreds of years of racist economic practices, the importance of generational wealth, and the exclusion of blacks from public funds. it also shuts down common arguments that you see in this thread like, "my grandparents weren't slave owners" and "why can't they just pull themselves up by their bootstraps".
doesn't get into the technical aspects of how it would work too much, but anybody who reads it and isn't convinced that reparations are needed in the country might just be a racist
it's kind of long and probably pay walled but worth reading if you have NYT

There is not a single reason to be against reparations tbh
Where’s the money going to come from?
Where’s the money going to come from?
The money given to defense contractors
Bump because California is doing this
yea f***ing dumb ass austerity reparations
REAL reparations means handing OWNERSHIP and SELF DETERMINATION to black people.
not only Black Californians who can prove a direct lineage to enslaved ancestors not including Black Immigrants to California.
glad it's happening tho but it's f***ing pennies to trillions in stolen wealth.
