Watched it semi-high with my friends tonight and Wow what a provocative story I see it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's all up to how you like to see metaphors and interpretations
Watched it high as s*** with friends last week too. That s***scene had us all shook LMAO

tf is semi high
this is a good movie but could’ve been so much if it hadn’t turned into Wicker Man in the last 45 minutes lol. just a bit too predictable since it’s been done before by such an iconic film

Probably what happens when you eat befly's avocado toast sprinkled ground up bud leaves

I've never seen the Wicker Man so maybe that's why i love Midsommar this much

definitely part of the reason, you won’t really be able to look at the ending the same after seeing it

Because it's too similar?
it’s damn near exactly the same lol
Damn i didn't know that. Heard of the name ofc and know it's a classic but never cared to check it out
One thing i also loved about the Aster movie was the cinematography i can't imagine another movie doing the same thing in Midsommar better. The shots were so eerie, how everything was placed in a certain way that looked so stunning
Do you think Wicker Man is actually a lot better or is it just the fact that most people have seen that movie before Midsommar came out and where just underwhelmed because of that?

idk i’d say i probably liked the cinematography more in Midsommar, but overall the OG Wicker Man is probably the better film. just way better at building suspense + the twist at the end is so much more surprising
Midsommar is basically Wicker Man for Gen Z-ers that don’t watch old movies lmao
U might be right ive only watched 1 time so far but the first half was insanely good, but the second half had a lot of hard moments too so idk fav movie ive watched this year
it hit a snag once josh got too ambitious
cliff scene though
Because it's too similar?
last half of it was his version of a holy mountain/wicker man mashup
i guess he figured not too many people are familiar with those movies especially cuz the wicker man remake kinda ruined it legacy
Gorgeous set on sale
Finally! Held off on purchasing until this released.
