Like obama era USA , sure chance could have been what we thought he would be, but i feel like ppl in general were a lil more pessimistic in trumps america. I mean around the time he was supposed to be big, X, Juice and the soundcloud wave was popping and nothing in that besides maybe Yachty’s first aesthetic was “positive”. Im just saying during the time, kids would have rather have heard more depressing things than what Chance had to offer

    That doesn’t have anything to do with it. Truth is, he became a caricature of himself and that’s why we thought he was corny. We could have looked passed it if the music continued to be good and it just wasn’t

    Nah Chance materialized he just had a career drop off but the success he had definitely was there

    he had his own lane pretty much at the time people were wearing those 3 hats merch was doing numbers and a bunch of christian supporters bc he was outspoken about his faith

    Memes aside CV fumbled when he didn't drop an album for like 4 years. He took too long after dropping Love & Grow for a new project and then also the fallout he had with Anwar Carrots really made him look like a POS that it turned people heavily off.
