What’s sad is yalls adult Brain be dead serious thinking you’re doing something by cherry picking songs that are obviously made with different “templates” in mind. What’s hilarious is that even in doing this you have to consciously avoid doing this with songs that obviously are in the same template like Nonstop is in the Memphis/Non ATL Southern template and Feel No Ways is in that dance club type sound/Majid Jordan type beats that he’s been doing since Hold On We’re Going Home/Little Bit.

If you play a Drake song it’s gonna be 1 out of 5 or so “formulas” and that’s ok.

Not really? Nas is a legend and cool but not really a discography I play often. Even so, what point were you tryna get to? That his music mostly sounds the same. Maybe

And yeah cuz that’s like picking two Yeat songs that have completely diff producers and subject matter and using that to say his music generally doesn’t sound the same lmao. One is an aggressive southern track for the hood clubs/NBA commercials and s*** and the other is a late night smooth edm club type song but both are not his only songs like that. There are usually a couple of songs like both of those on all his projects since 2016

No one said he remakes one song literally over and over but he recycles the same 5 or so templates as does Kanye now lol although Kanye shows signs of being able to break out of that again

Drake's rap songs kinda sound the same lately but he's obviously very versatile

    And also they're still fire

  • Jul 17, 2022

“Great work ethic” is really just churning out a bunch of s*** using the exact same formula (usually without really thinking about it)
It’s kinda like working on autopilot

    Drake

    Vocally, yes.

    Sonically, not at all.

  • Jul 17, 2022

dvsn tbh but I don’t mind it

  • Jul 17, 2022

“basically most artists with great work ethic” is facts lmao

Niggas already got the formula, infinite song making glitch

It's because his vocal work tends to be similar.

His latest album has a similar vocal sound to his previous albums even though the production is very different.]

Wayne Drake even Kanye in no way shape or form recycles same few templates. If you want to see people who make same s*** over and over look at juice yb megan dababy prior to this year etc.

Can you give an example of someone who you think doesn't make the same music?

  • Jul 17, 2022

anybody whos consistently top 10 on charts

  • Jul 17, 2022

    J Cole and Kill Edward

  • Jul 17, 2022

    Kanye Up until Pablo

    Outkast

Kendrick even tho Morale seems like Pablo/MBDTF formula applied to his discography

Basically consistently just adding new s*** to your sound/can’t really predict what your project will sound like

Since Views you know you’ll get the sampled just Blaze type song, a few houston or Memphis and ATL type songs, a Cokehead Miami edm song lmao and then the r&b s***. And maybe a The Ride/Two Birds One Stone/etc. rapping hard over the 40 synth tricks

  • Jul 17, 2022
    Jerry Seinfeld

Man I’m cooked I thought you were saying every artist in the op sounded the same as each other

    lmao no

  • Jul 17, 2022

DaBaby is the only right answer though.

I feel like if you gotta list multiple examples of different sounding music... you like just proved Drake music doesn't sound the same.

Cycling through templates and formulas of those song types = / = those are the only songs like that in his discography

When you move rap from a place of pure expression to a sports like place of relevancy and sales it’s no surprise he has to keep a few proven success in his repertoire the same way Steph or Bron has go to moves lol
