Cycling through templates and formulas of those song types = / = those are the only songs like that in his discography
When you move rap from a place of pure expression to a sports like place of relevancy and sales it’s no surprise he has to keep a few proven success in his repertoire the same way Steph or Bron has go to moves lol
what would you like drake to do 💀💀
Man I’m cooked I thought you were saying every artist in the op sounded the same as each other
deadass
nigga worded that s*** weird
could’ve said who’s discography sounds the same
niggas itt picking and choosing when having a recognizable sound as an artist is a bad thing or not
what would you like drake to do 💀💀
Weird response to me simply just saying he uses 5-6 song templates lmao but I’ll play
A Memphis type album would be cool where he dabbled in the rap 3 6 mafia type
Stuff but then also the acoustic guitar/soul type stuff and then 40 could add his magic with the synths throughout the project. Maybe mess with some of his dads old music for samples
I thought honestly nevermind sucked outside of sticky and the 21 track but I respect that he’s trying to expand beyond just making home run s*** that he know will kill the charts. Which is pretty much the answer to your question although I wish he rapped more on those beats

Kanye after 2016
kanye somehow finds new ways to sound the same
think that’s why even tho i’m not obsessed with it HNVM is cool off the strength it’s committed to a single sound dude has tapped into before

one of the best a***ysis i’ve seen on the current moment
Drake has been writing about one of 2 or 3 different subjects on loop for most of his career (jealous haters, crazy hoes, success being difficult/alienating) but his instrumentals do sound different from each other. I give him credit for HNVM even though it's far from a great album. I wouldn't say all of his songs sound the same and at least he tried something a little different.
