From recognizing how dumb he sounded when he threatened reiner, to his confession to ramzi, to him asking mikasa what he meant for her, to his convo with falco, 139 and the cabin scene. He has traits that are his nature and will never change, like all characters have, and just because those arent likeable or commendable doesnt mean he doesnt grow at all, and good writing doesnt necessarily entail character growth.

In the past when AoT was still early in meaning at that point that is how he was approaching Eren. Eren started to care more about Mikasa as the series progressed and it was always clear he was giving mixed signals ever since season 2.

Historia chooses not to marry the farmer before having the baby. She is chastised for this because having a baby out of wedlock is a bad look as a ruler. She marries him years later in the ending so why not marry before having the baby? The multiple scenes of visual storytelling where Historia gives birth right as Eren is killed and Eren's severed head transitions to the face of Historia's child. Eren shared his whole plan with Historia as well.

It makes sense why Eren would be so strongly against Zeke's plan because if Zeke succeeds, Historia's child will die. Why would Eren be so determined to complete the rumbling while even getting his friend's killed (Hange and Flock) and putting them in danger? Because he wants to build a new world for his child to be free of the history of oppression. That makes sense to me. But ay he's just an idiot, right?

Because he's already cried and grieved over that. This convo technically the last convo he has with after everything has happened. Eren literally ignored Mikasa for the sake of trying to finish this rumbling s***. He wouldn't have entertained running away and f***ing Mikasa for four years in her final memory of him

If you want to critique on the fact Mikasa and Eren don't make sense then you're ignoring the fact

Eren and Historia have literally never shared a mutual romantic link. The idea of Eren making Historia have a baby is framed as a tool and "option" which doesn't have any romantic feelings at all.

Which would just boil down to Isiyama not being good at writing romance.
