i know this might be a dumb question because these interfaces are already supposed to give you the most "accurate" sound, but do you know if there are any 3rd party equalizers that you can use with these interfaces to adjust the sound? they sound great for recording/playing instruments, but dont pack enough punch sometimes for just listening to hip hop on headphones
Not a dumb question at all. I’m assuming you would use the EQ for casual listening. So you need an EQ plugin installed on your computer and a media player installed which is capable of loading VST plugins. Then you adjust the EQ settings to your liking. I’ll help you more tomorrow, I took my sleep meds and I’m gonna knock out for the night lol

appreciate it! no rush. yeah, just for casual listening. what you're saying about the plugin is correct. although do i need a separate media player for it to work? or are there plugins that will work with streaming apps (spotify, etc) as well? thanks again

You could see if your headphones are supported by SoundID. If they are, it’s really simple to use. It’s hard to explain, but it gives you listening tests and decides where to enhance the bass, treble, etc. you can select SoundID as the output on Spotify
To see if your headphones are supported: sonarworks.com/soundid/supported-headphones
edit: you need the mobile app to setup your headphone profile before you are able to apply the settings to your computer

Makes sense. I didn't think about adjusting the actual headphones instead of the computer. I usually use studio monitoring headphones that don't use software, but I could always just use my newer bluetooth headphones when I want to adjust the levels
Anyway, thanks again for all your help!
