Tbh ion even know what I'm doing with these compressors I just f*** around with the presets in Ableton and Neutron 3 Elements till I get my vocals where I want em
This helped me a lot.
Watch it occasionally and learn something new every time

really the best way to learn compression is training your ears
I feel like Im starting to get a hold of what certain attack and release times sound like by just listening to songs that have examples of those, and doing sound tasks
Need help with pro tools first s*** keep crashing and uninstall not working smh

recording in fl is trash and i do not recommend. ableton is cool for recording but 11 is about to be even better. logic is pretty much the best rn because of their comping features but ableton is about to get that. also protools is good too

Can you send me any of those? 🧐
idk what it is about delay but I swear the s*** just makes vocals come to life so much I can’t explain it

Definitely. It gives them a sense of space in a different way than reverb does. Quick tip: try a slap delay followed by an 1/8 or 1/4 note delay as a separate send.

this a good tip, I usually set a ping pong, and then just burry it next to a vocal to give the dry vocal more pressence, and leave the wet delay signal in its own negative space
If that makes any sense
Any engineers that use FL studio want to collab for the mix on this valentines album? got many in creative sxn among others on board
sorry if this has been covered already, but im new in here
just need a new simple audio interface for 1 mic input, outputs for headphones/monitors. my 10 year old m-audio interface is finally crapping out, but im reading that m-audio sucks now.
looks like the 2 best simple ones are focusrite, SSL2, or Audient from what i can see
anybody have a suggestion on which 1 would be best (or a different brand).
thanks!

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has what you need. 2 mic inputs, 2 line inputs, and the headphones output and monitors output each have their own knob. It’s $160

i know this might be a dumb question because these interfaces are already supposed to give you the most "accurate" sound, but do you know if there are any 3rd party equalizers that you can use with these interfaces to adjust the sound? they sound great for recording/playing instruments, but dont pack enough punch sometimes for just listening to hip hop on headphones
