I got some vocals coming your way soon btw man I havent forgotten, was dealing with a little writers block but we back @bigcaddy
how do I shift vocals in fl studio? like very precisely. from time to time when I record vocals and press spacebar to stop recording , the vocal jumps back a couple beats.
then when I try to drag it back to where it was supposed to be, the vocals move just a little too forward. I want to be able to move the vocal in smaller increments
help? this would really take the stress out of recording for me, so I can just get ideas out
Hold alt then click and drag

mesure or record early
hold alt or option (mac) while you drag them
adjust PPQ in general settings for a finer grid
Also record at low latency
I still don't understand how he gets his mixes so loud, saturated and bass heavy with tons of top end but still manages to make it sound under control.
His Eqs prolly be looking like Parabolas
realized there's a whole site that does it in 2 seconds lol

This is dope af
Having so much equipment and features and plugins is a trap
It definitely is. Its crazy to think that decades ago all there was to work with was EQ, compression and tape delay. Now engineers would be fired if that's all they used lol
Who the best engineer on ktt
Idk about all that, but this is what I mixed today

It doesn’t sound under control at all

Start working on a mix while using one of his as a reference, when you start to A-B your mix back and forth to his you’ll see what I’m talking about.
What would you change about it?
Send me a private message
I played it for my bro and he likes it

I was listening to some dean mixes last night.
I think I know what you mean.
I have no idea how he does it tho, the bass is bassy without being "bassy"
It's like ideal audio spectrum balance it's ridiculous

Crazy thing is I’ve heard him say he never high passes the sub 0-20hz out of his bass, he just keeps it how it is.
So I really don’t understand how he gets so much bass without any low end mud or rumble and still manage to master the track so loud without it pumping.
Anyone have any tips to make your vocals pop out on pro tools? I only have stock plugins but my mixes still don’t have that pop to it..
Would appreciate it if anyone can help

if you're mixing with stems from the beat find a way to sidechain the main melody to the vocals so it's slightly ducking behind them
make sure if the sidechain has a dry/wet knob keep it really low, as low as you can while it still making a difference, a little goes a long way

I usually record with the instrumental in full so it’s just one full sound opposed to individual sounds (Idk if that’s what you meant by stems)
Do you have a picture of the mix window to show me exactly how you sidechain the beat melody to duck behind the vocals?
My fault I’m really new to mixing so I appreciate the info fam
