need some help with eq on my vocals
im white and when listening back i feel like i have a super nasally voice lol
is there any way i can kinda cut out that sound with an eq or is it more of a changing my voice thing?
i can send links of some of my songs for examples
i use to have a whiney ass voice when i first mixed. i eventually found out puttin two-three eq’s helps it.
I figured it out, for some reason if you are capturing audio that's cut up a bunch it processes it differently than if it's audio bounced together.
Had to bounce the take to one audio file and it's working now.
Been eqing like Alex Tumay
Very ridiculous way to EQ but works to raise things
Elaborate
I’ve never seen any of his mixing videos before

Ive watched his videos and i have no idea wtf he doing with eq. He has atleast like 10-15 eq notches on his vocals that he’ll add to throughout the vocal mixing, seemingly getting rid of resonances
How do you rate vocalign out of 10?
I haven't had enough use cases to give it a full review yet, I will get back with you on that.
In response to your other comment, I do not claim to be the best mixing engineer, but I am the most aquatic, so I have that going for me.

Can I hear some of your work? I need someone to work some magic for me lol
if you guys want a comprehensive mixing course search michael white on youtube, hes an acclaimed engineer with a lot of big creds and his philosophy really got me seeing mixing in a whole different way
yo lmao who is the guy in your avi i used to see him on youtube like 10 years ago

As long as your DAW has ARA2 support, then VocALign Ultra is worth every penny. Its extremely easy to use. The pitch matching is a game-changer.
I didnt like the algorithm in VocALign Project, although that was an older version.

Pruane2Forever
Ableton in the box plug-ins work just as good if not better than waves
This is tru, don’t need third party if u know how to use the stock plugins.

Ian Shepherd's podcast is a good resource for that, I started at the beginning when I listened to it.
Have listened to the front half of the content multiple times.

10 when it works
0 when it breaks or breaks logic, which happens often for me. But it's probably something I'm doing wrong still.
