You can do anything in everything. Ableton is actually excellent for mixing. The only reason pro tools is the “industry standard” for mixing is that it is the most compatible with studio hardware.

Not even a compatibility thing. It was just one of the first and most reliable n because of that every studio adopted it

Sometimes I’ll put a tiny bit of widening if I’m sending the 808 to a distortion plugin

    interesting

I will widen on a send, or rout it to a send with distortion and inverted phase on a channel.

I will for the most part try to blend it in with the original signal.

But bass definitely is not limited to being mono.

Use some sort of lr gain visualizer to see it. Pull up professional tracks and you will see what I mean. Some bass patterns look crazy in a stereo field. I will send pictures here if I remember the next time I'm looking at something interesting.

wow this sounds very cool lol, i get the idea of routing to another channel or copying and making a new channel with just the stereo signal, ill have to experiment with this

need to get protools so i can start making 1000 track projects lol

So, do you hear more of a sine wave the lower the frequency?

Like lower frequencies played back at the same sample rate as higher frequencies will have more fidelity within a sine cycle?

  • May 30, 2022

    Or is it the same?
