They're very good for both classic and modern, tbh. In my opinion they're the best entry level "audiophile" headphones. I'm pretty sure you've seen a ton of videos comparing them to the M50x and everyone claiming that they're superior. Well I found out the hard way that they were right.
That's how I ended up with the m40x, people always talked about how they were superior to m50x. Used them for a good year but I've moved on to pair of new AKG headphones since then. The comfort was killing me tbh
More like ~$12 a month. You don't need as much storage as him for music. As long as your seedbox is running, and it always will, you get to have access to as much music as you want. Way more than any streaming service can offer.
Yeah I download like 50gb movies too you def don't need 3TB for just music alone
klipsch rp6000f floorstanding plus Cambridge cxa80. does the job I generally just play stuff thru pc or plex from the Xbox1x or the tv, got oled Panasonic 55 inch
dt990 pro
Adam a77x
apollo twin quad
acoustic panels and bass traps more important than all that if we talking audiophile quality
Sony WH1000XM3 over ear headphones
Sennheiser HD6xx open back headphones
Master and Dynamic MH40 over ear headphones
Beats Studio 3 over ear headphones
regular AirPods
Not an audiophile by any means but I use Sony 1AM2 headphones with an Audioquest Dragonfly Black which is a USB DAC AMP. Makes my entry level audiophile headphones sound so good
Not an audiophile at all, but man, I copped a sounbar for Christmas after realizing how trash my TCL 4K TV speakers were. I had the sounbar setup instantly but for some reason never bothered with the subwoofer. Set that s*** up in the opposite corner of my room from my TV and DAMN. The bass. The feel. God it’s so immersive. I believe it’s a TCL Alto 5+. Don’t remember honestly.
I love just chilling on my PC, loading up Apple Music on my Apple TV, and just letting the music fill the room.
I know there’s better brands out there but I don’t care honestly. Just wanted something entry level in the same ecosystem and I love it.
Thought this might fit in this thread: I just got a new Sonos speaker and wasn't sure where I should place it in my room for optimal audio quality. It's in my bedroom. Currently just have it on my dresser. I've read that I should get it 2-3 feet away from the wall, but I'm not sure how I could accomplish that without literally just sitting it on the floor somewhere. Idk, any tips appreciated.
Also on main thread topic I use ATH M50X through macbook primarily

Chord make quite expensive products. Should see the price for the Hugo 2.
It’s a good dac, can power pretty much everything with a few inputs and has great soundstage. Worth the money imo.
Added a wharfedale sub, just chills out, turned down pretty low. Huge improvement tho needed filling out down low
Whole setup done more or less
