Well, I personally just don't think we'll see him with his normal face.

Dr.Doon's face is disfigured. I think he'll be in makeup without his mask. And if we see his origin, it will probably be in F4's universe, where none of the MCU characters that knew Tony are at.

At best I could see a joke with, say, Reed Richards seeing a photo of Tony and commenting on it

i’m split because i didn’t think they could do an avengers movie and then we got all the way up to endgame, and then i thought they couldn’t f*** it up and we got all the way to doomsday, so i don’t even know what to think

this whole paradox is really why i hated everything about the idea of them doing multiverse’s they just are diminishing returns everytime, and they make every character less special and interesting because apparently there’s a billion iron man’s

Whole reason they wanted to do multiverse is just to give them more asspull options

They should’ve surprised us with the RDJ joint. It kinda undermines the sacrifice that Iron Man was.

Only way to redeem is to give us a new Iron Man.
Give us the Tom Cruise joint the fans been asking for for decades.
Kinda how everyone wanted Jim from the office as Mr Fantastic.

also if they wanted to keep Doom a surprise, its nearly impossible in this time

It wouldn’t have been impossible.

This news leaked months ago but nobody seriously believed it because of how far fetched it sounded.

And as far as on set photos go, RDJ could’ve remained in the mask for any shooting on location so even through leaked photos you wouldn’t be able to tell it was him

Is RDJ really THE main draw for these things?

I’m confused by the choice to bring him back in this role but I won’t be all doom and gloom about it. I’m willing to see how it plays out. I’ve definitely been wrong before

RDJ in general no but for MCU he's definitely a huge draw. I saw like 10 people reposting the announcement on their stories who hadn't posted about Marvel since like No Way Home.

I’m just a big FF fan so I bring bias. Maybe we get a proper Doom down the road. That being said it’s not like we’ve had a great depiction of Doom in any of the outings so I shouldn’t be too picky

I think we'll get proper MCU X-Men, Doom, maybe new Cap and Iron Man post Secret Wars when they reboot s*** and merge timelines or something.

I get the thought process. RDJ probably one of the most beloved movie stars working today. His whole backstory is a underdog story IRL

Especially in the MCU where he's basically a King to these nerds lol.

I guess they thought casting RDJ as Doom would bring butts in the seats and would cushion the blow of not continuing the Kang storyline.

I don't think they anticipated how divisie a reaction this would get.

If Majors was gonna get top billing for Kang Dynasty, RDJ definitely gonna get top billing for Doomsday. Especially now that he's the new confirmed big bad

I hope they did anticipate the backlash cause if not then the angle is probably trash and they have no awareness of it
