These mfs really shoulda just went full throttle with Young Avengers as their post-Endgame face of the MCU. Marvel’s Stranger Things or Euphoria whether TV or film but it should’ve been the immediate and dedicated move

Just reading up on a lot of these theories and potential plans for the MCU I can't help but feel like they really should've just dropped down to street level Marvel characters/stories. We could've easily gotten something like the MCU version of Marvel Knights. A team consisting of Daredevil, Blade, Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel taking on Kingpin and his Sinister Six. Which could've then opened up to more cosmic storyline involving Spider-Man and Knull, and the symbiotes.

It just feels like for what they are attempting to do it needs so much more set-up, they're just f***in up with at every turn. Sometimes less is more, especially if you're trying to create another decade and some change spanning narrative. I mean Secret Wars and Doomsday are supposedly coming out in 2025 and 2026? Unless those films are planning on being complete reboots of the MCU bringing a bunch of retcons along with them, I just can't see this ending well at all.

A void left in the world by the end of the Avengers but Kang steps in so a group of people are motivated to fill that void? Oh look at that, I wonder who had the same motive to go up against Kang in the comics… the young Avengers

Thematically and symbolically would have been a beautiful followup to the Infinity Saga and Endgame - honoring the legacy of old characters while passing the torch to a new generation…oh look there’s Hailee Steinfeld

They definitely had so much plans surrounding Kang and Kang Dynasty but for whatever reason decided to dead all of it instead of simply recasting Johnathan Majors...shit is dumb.

I realized how cooked they truly were when it came out that the Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine was originally planned to be from a universe that was directly impacted by the tampering from a Kang, but that narrative was scrapped. They gave up on an entire film/saga that was plotted out years in advance just to basically wing it and go for the nostalgia cash grab.

Just sad to see more than anything.

I think this movie will flop. The multiverse killed the MCU and recasting RDJ as doom is a mistake. RDJ is great but this whole variant s*** is a losing strategy so they shouldn’t invest even more in it.

People like myself who lived and breathed for the infinity saga are not even paying attention anymore. Go ahead and kill spider man I mean who cares u can just replace him with a variant. None of it matters

I think they’re betting on it being impossible for this to flop with the RDJ casting and bringing everyone back (which is likely be the strategy for every avengers movie til the end of time). Honestly I also don’t think this will flop commercially

As for my interest in the MCU it’s pretty much non existent now. Really liked Shang Chi and he won’t have been in a movie for like 6 or 7 years since his first appearance by the time this drops. Haven’t even bothered to check out any thing other than MOM and NWH

I am in the camp of RDJ being cast as doom is a semi inspired choice regarding the use of the multiverse, no one expected that but it is lazy casting and clear scrambling bc of Jonathan Majors

it wont be a full flop. i think they'll pour a fortune into production and marketing and it'll probably hit a billion at the box office. but given the cost..... it'll need to do like 1.2 billion to break even.

so it might seem popular it just wont be profitable, is my guess.
