Boudin has been criticized for his alleged lack of prosecution of d***-related crimes, with only 3 d*** convictions in 2021, including none of which were for fentanyl dealing. Boudin has defended his actions saying that many of the d*** dealers in the Bay Area are from Honduras, and would face deportation if convicted of d*** dealing

    Cmon now

Troy Ramon McAlister, a repeat offender who had three federal felony convictions before 2015, was released on parole from state prison on April 10, 2020, under a plea appeal with Boudin's office and was arrested by police in November and December 2020 for vehicle and d*** crimes. Boudin's office declined to file new charges against McAlister, stating that the state's parole officials had more leverage to keep individuals in custody for nonviolent crimes. On December 31, 2020, McAlister struck and killed pedestrians Hanako Abe and Elizabeth Platt while driving a stolen vehicle

SF saw decreased violent crime, property crime, theft, and homelessness rates under this DA this is proof of the media being able to construct any narrative they want

because they weren't prosecuting it lol

yall lookin at headlines too much if you think crime actually went down under his lazy ass

data's wrong as f*** cus they only collected s*** that would be provided by authorities. DA as authority provided nothin bc he wouldnt prosecute anyone. n when bro said he straight up wasn't gonna bother prosecuting "minor" s*** the authorities just stopped doin reports like they used to. no point in sending anything to your higher ups for certain s*** if your higher ups already said they dgaf. so the numbers might look pretty but in SF those "minor" unprosecuted crimes included ykno robbing stores en masse f***in up ppls cars n houses to steal s*** n dealin d**** to that ever increasing addict homeless population in sf

so all bro did was make it easier for ppl to get/stay addicted to s***, live/die on the street, and gave repeat criminals a lil siesta in a holding cell before they were inevitably released to continue their robberies

he came on the scene talkin like he had good intentions and an interesting approach bout underlying issues. he successfully followed thru on none of it and made the city look stupid

Crime is down but it's rising post COVID and corporate/police narratives quickly can drum up outrage like this over like- people taking things out of a CVS.

Also, one man can't really change the conditions there. You can reform punishment but you've got to change the entire economic reality and incentive structure there.

it wasn't just narratives that people read or heard, everyday people lived that s*** because it was actually some bullshit out there. SF loving narratives too much is lowkey what got them such an underperformer like boudin cus that's all dude was good at

  • Jun 13, 2022

in fairness i think he did have ok intentions with the homeless population. in the past couple years they got provided some interesting provisions that could've made a difference in their QOL if the city in general didn't just stop after making sure they could shoot up with clean needles, bc in the end just doing that + returning them to the streets immediately after a public complaint or arrest just enabled them to continue ruining themselves n causing problems for others

s*** was just weird in general tbh. it seemed like dude tried to act on his ideas for the first few months of his term and then was like ok i did it! and let the city jus kinda boil over

Lol well that's what this move is. The only thing they're going to do is hire a more punitive DA and then stop reporting on crime so much

They are going to hire a DA who prosecutes crimes more and then report less on crimes? Who is they?

The consolidated media who were passing off identical reports and using the same unique phrases to cover this stuff. Have you been paying attention
