Imagine owning something just for the sake of forcing people to pay to use it
That’s the definition of a parasite
I aint even have to call it in
I got dogs thatll chew a f***ing hole through the wall
landlords are parasites to society that literally do nothing
My dad is a cardiologist who kept working throughout the pandemic even though he's diabetic. He also owns a few houses and apartments which he rents out for extra income. I wouldn't say he's a parasite
You should focus on your school my guy you obviously need it
dont give me such a bullshit answer that doesn't benefit anyone!
tell me why im wrong! educate me! i live in a third world country with a trash school system so forget it

Then your father isn't primarily a landlord tho

good for your dad on being a cardiologist
bad for your dad on being a landlord

Cars can be used for some things
Rails can be used for some things
Walking can be used for some things
Bus/Tram can be used for some things
There should be a healthy and logical combination of ways to getting to places based on where you live
Needing a car to get groceries because the nearest grocery store is 5 miles away on a five lane road isn’t healthy or logical

how we gon pay b****es rent if we abolish landlords tho
Then your father isn't primarily a landlord tho
Which is even worse because he doesn’t need to leech off of peoples money
good for your dad on being a cardiologist
bad for your dad on being a landlord
I don't get this "do nothing" thing though. Work and money goes into repairing the property and keeping it livable. These tenants complain about a sink or stove not working and we gotta be over there fixing that s***. And don't even get me started on how some people leave the property when they just flee after not paying rent for a few months There is work that goes into keeping a property in good condition

i'm not tryna come at you or your dad personally, but capitalism has brainwashed people into thinking its normal to pay in order to LIVE somewhere
everyone needs somewhere to live, its not something we should have to pay for. its a failure of our society that we need to
Which is even worse because he doesn’t need to leech off of peoples money
Don't hate the player, hate the game. If the system is already there, I'm not going to hate on people for taking advantage of it. I hate certain things about the sneakers game, but I can't blame resellers for doing what they do when people are willing to pay double retail for a sneaker

We're not
Do better my guy

The Marxist a***ysis blames the game more than the player, to be fair. I don't blame your father for investing in properties. It doesn't matter that much anyway in the grand scheme of trillions of dollars.

it’s not even that deep (imo), people don’t realize all the costs they save by renting. s*** even some millionaires choose to rent
houses in general are a terrible investment (obvious exceptions, and this is a “school of thought thing, people also think the opposite). if something breaks you either have to pay with your labor or money to fix it
if you rent and a hot water tank breaks, guess what? you call your landlord and he’s obligated to replace it at no cost to you.
now i’m obviously against slum lords, they should be abolished, but joe shmoe who has a passion for fixing up houses and renting isn’t doing anything wrong (so long as he keeps up with the property and is fair to the tenants)
if anything, there should be more strict and visible laws in favor of the tenants, but renting shouldn’t be abolished. it’s hard enough to get a house for some people as is, imaging making them pay for all repairs now too because they can’t rent and are forced to buy

You don’t save costs by renting if anything you pay more than a monthly mortgage because you’re also being skimmed for profit by the landlord who probably doesn’t give a s*** about the condition of the house. They’ll probably skim you for profit whenever they try and spend any money on the house too
The only reason people can’t even get mortgages is because they don’t have the disposable income to build credit so they can’t secure loans to make down payments even though mortgages usually cost less than rent
This post makes no sense

you don’t always, but you can save money by renting in the long run
a mortgage may be less than a rent payment at times, BUT you have take into account repairs, property taxes, and other costs (like bills if they aren’t included in the rent)
on top of that, if you don’t keep up with the home in terms of repairs and upgrades, you will actually loose money when you try and sell it down the road (or at the very best break even)
additionally, you are banking on the area in which you choose to buy a house in to keep its property value. some areas boom and housing prices soar, others crash and housing prices follow suit
buying a house is a huge gamble if it’s not your forever home/don’t have the income for repairs, property taxes, etc
