They love hiring random niggas to do bullshit adaptations that just ruin everything; hire cheap, get it done cheaply. like it was a business plan that they had faith in. I wonder what changed when for just a few dollars more, people won't hate you

Like is the prospect of "we HOPE this turns out well because it was cheap and we have fans that don't give a f***" more appealing than hiring a good director?

Constantin film has held resident evil movie rights for a while . They release with Sony . Capcom is game and ip rights so technically street fighter is Capcom but this isn’t

Seems like a no-brainer but it doesn't happen all that often, or it does but the deal falls thru because of creative differences because the suits on the Japanese side are pretty particular about how their IP is portrayed

he's also probably one of the hottest and most sought after directors working atm. definitely after weapons but even with weapons itself, he had studios fighting each other and throwing money around to secure the project for themselves. i'd assume this project was a case of sony convincing zach to say yes rather than the other way around

Yeah, mid budget joints that made a good return most of the time, definitely helped keep the trend alive of not trying to bring in super A-list talent
