Looks like this is going to do well and Sony will probably green light another

They could go ahead and adapt 2 now (even though I think they could start with 1). Cregger could leave, attach his name on it as a producer (or even write it as a “fuck you” to the people bagging on him over not adapting the game in the first place) and someone else could come direct.

To me, this film is what happens in one of those side stories you learn about when finding a note or audio recording. And that’s cool af imo

If they do a sequel, I think it would be cool if, with Cregger attached to direct, they did a different famous setting from the series and told another original story within it. He’s got a point that there’s no real point of adapting a story 1:1 that already exists in the games, people could just play the game instead

  • Making it an anthology series would be cool

  • BANGER.

  • Only criticism is the ending feels a bit reminiscent of American Werewolf in London, feel like there should have been one more set piece, but I love the concept of it.

That would be amazing and I personally would LOVE that

    However

I'm not sure Sony wants to go through all this bs that the vocal minority of RE fans complaining about them not adapting a game again though lmao

Goddammit i just bought my ticket for imax tonight...can nothing be sincere? Is it more Joss Whedon comedy bullshit? Im walking out if i hear one of those lines

No, the comedy is purely situational, no one liners or outright jokes or anything.

    It’s After Hours style comedy.

I’d say this was okay and had its moments but honestly surprised how high this is rated at least on rotten tomatoes. IMO too much comedic moments, imagine if they left all the original comedic moments in :yikes:

they nailed the mutations, wish the ending wasn’t goofy, shoutout Bryan

    too many forced comedic moments*

90% of the jokes were trying to be funny not actually funny

i had fun watching this one but i have no desire to rewatch re at all.

I just walked out and got a refund. Got to the scene where the lady leaves PWH and the main guy in the car.

Thats about 45 mins or so into the movie. No exaggeration, nearly every single line of dialogue was comedic. Those 45 mins had more jokes in it than the entirety of Shaun of the Dead. The main guy walking around saying Joss Whedon nonsense to himself constantly.

I cant support this bullshit. F*** that.

"Too many jokes" shouldn't even apply to this film tbh. That gives the me impression that there are actual moments without jokes. The entire first 45 mins was literally nothing but jokes. Truly awful. Not a single redeeming quality.

Dawg keep watching. I legitimately am not exaggerating. There is not a single 3 minute stretch of the movie that doesnt contain some kind of "well...that happened"/"holy s***balls LOL" line being said.
