But film bros despise even the mere presence of comedy in any movie

I can see how if someone set certain expectations and was a huge fan of the game they would walk out in the first hour though.

Do I think the movie is horrendous or bad? no

Do I think reviews rated it high to the point someone could go in expecting something much better ? Yes

while everything is subjective if the first hour didnt work for him his views of the movie werent really going to get that much better by the end.

its a very one watch movie. The games have jokes of course dont get me wrong but this has a lot of jokes some that take you out of it.

I just don’t agree. None of the comedy was forced or out of place. In the case of the MCU, they’ll regularly drop in jokes that derail a scene or remove emotional weight from a beat, and it sucks when they do that. This movie doesn’t do anything like that at all

there really were some hilarious parts in this it just needed a bit more tension and honestly silence at points lmao

But I am not saying you have to agree nor am I in anyway trying to coerce, persaude or convince you agree. Nor do I view your opinion as lesser to mine. I am not calling it MCU while I do think some jokes remove emotional weight from a beat and some moments dont breathe in the way I would want them to. That in essence betray the viewers emotional investment in the characters or world because in a moment I feel the emotional depth or characters there is a joke

some of the jokes do land they not all misses for me.

As sorrow says it needed more tension and silence at points. its like it didnt want the audience to have their own thoughts or think or be looking around the screen at points so he self narrated a bit too much for my liking. Nor did some of the self narration or quips fully serve the plot, character or making it feel like a video game. Again they just took me a bit out of it.

I thought they were joking when they said he yelled video games I was like "guys stop trolling be for real" seeing it happen I was like ayoooooo

"VIDEO GAMES!!!" did get a laugh out of me ngl

Wonder if Bryan getting infected so early and what ends up happening to him is a nod to the fact that mainline RE characters are just tanking s*** no problem, whereabouts he’s just some Joe Schmoe so he has no plot armor of any kind.

The entire girlfriend storyline could have added a lot of soul to the movie

if through time he was essentially leaving audio logs for her or she was watching the ending on tv or any final interaction . The soul of the movie was partially him going from alluding towards abort yo wanting to live for his daughter . In between he kills a whole child and it’s not really given breathe . Him seeking to save that child when he could have and should have just walked away Recongnizing he couldn’t save her cost him everything.

him going to the depths of hell while not looking in the bag at all until he meets those who tell him to was something. Gave him the technology of a cell phone and set it in modern times only for phone signal to be out for most of movie

This was interesting. Definitely wanna see it again. Ending was way outta left field but it's cool I guess. Director said he's not doing any more of these so unless someone else does a sequel that's it. Loved the pacing. One set piece after another
