Crusty old man who gave up the mantle for years nothing could convince him to be. Batman again then suddenly gets the love for the game back and becomes young and ripped again out of nowhere with a magic knee brace solely cuz some chick robbed some of his jewels lmfao
They really didn’t give a f*** when they slapped that script together

Dude was out of the game for EIGHT YEARS
They didn’t have to make it last that long
By far Nolan’s worst film.. Anyone who likes it cannot even come up with a convincing argument against its various bullshit excuses of a coherent plot (they’ll just say we’re nitpicking).

Its also better than Dark Knight

No but Begins is better than Rises

    hell no

Rises is at least dumb campy fun. Begins is so dry and devoid of anything. I'd rather rewatch Batman Forever than Begins

My hot take with Nolan is that Prestige also makes less sense upon rewatch when you know the twist. Loved it on first watch tho it blew my mind as a kid

    Nah

  • Meh, Robert’s Batman is the first Batman maybe since Burton’s that genuinely feels like Batman. That’s why I enjoy it. Loved the Nolan Films but they definitely look and feel like Nolan films. Not a bad thing, Nolan is great and he gave us a classic but I actually think both films have a lot more in common in a way than people think. Begins was a good film that was ultimately overshadowed because the sequel that followed it is basically Iconic and I have a feeling, depending on how they execute 2. We may be in for a similar situation.

  • Wheel Smith

    hmmmmmmmmmm

    i like both movies

  • Fell asleep in the theater 💤

but Rises has Lang energy (Nibelungen films and Metropolis)

sure Rises has tons of issues but it kind of works. Begins is a snooze to me

How many of yall hyping Begins have actually rewatched it?

The action scenes are easily the worst in the trilogy with straight up bad direction and choppy editing. With Rises at least the clunkiness has a utility and power.
The first act always feels too long and the third act always feels too abrupt.

It really feels like a product of its time whereas Rises feels like it could have come out yesterday.

Murnau ran laps around Lang in the 20s

nope... sry Metropolis clears Murnau but he might have had the better ration overall.
