can't believe we're getting The Flash team on this
Did y’all like Doctor Strange 2 or Spider-Man 3 that much?
Raimi is hit or miss.
both of them have redeeming qualities even if they're rough around the edges. I'd argue the script is the main issue with both.
Raimi's directing is still pretty amazing

Same could be said for Andy. He killed it on Welcome to Derry.
Both directors have hits and misses.

I fw Strange 2 HEAVY
Any issues with it are in the writing department
Same with Spider-Man 3
Give sam a good Scribe and we're cooking

Ds2 was mcu interference
The Flash movie was in a very awkward spot when it came out with the DCU/Ezra in complete disarray
But man that movie was
in development for over a f***ing decade it being bad hurt. Not even a minor indication of Thawne was weird.
I think Gunn is gonna have a lot of control in this one and say what you want but this man delivered Superman, GoTG and TSS is a good movie. Also BoP was fun.
And Flash wasn’t DCU interference?
I don’t blame Andy for that but Andy is busy with welcome to derry
I feel like the ultimate conflict is that anyone joining is immediately narrowed because this is Gunn's Batman. He's the one really running this creatively.
Hodson's job for everything she's in is to just follow instructions from studios/producers and produce for other peoples pitches/ideas. That's probably why Gunn prefers her, and why THR implies they struggled to find writers for this.
Raimi would be an interesting swap, but how much changes if he can't go wild? Fans were slowly coming around the the idea of Andy doing this after HBO's It until this news understandably brought back mass PTSD.

It’s the same issues as dceu because they yet again allowed a director of one of the movies to run the entire universe. Rather than create a collaborative team of directors and writers who can match each other’s tones and create a world together. S*** maddening cause it is not at all learning from history if we go that way again

They didn’t imply that they struggled to find writers. There was a writer working on this for awhile before Hodson.

Nah man the movie was just mid, why y’all doing this weird thing now where y’all absolve MCU directors of blame when their s*** is mid

Because we saw Edgar wright , nia de costa , Sam raimi and even more directors original vision before marvel Disney then alterations made to it . When a movie has to do so much for the universe rather than be a good movie itself why are we shocked
Multiverse of madness on your movie marathon still

But finding a writer and a take on the material proved, for the longest time, elusive.
If they had an alleged prior writer, then how did they end up with Hodson of all options? They probably struggled with their work, which affirms this reporting
This is why I’m admitting again I was wrong to question Gunn hiding this. If he announced the previous writer(s) then posted changes to Hodson (or others) then that would publicly indicate a struggle or development hell. It’s the only film they did this with

There are no guarantees that the original vision Nia had for The Marvels would’ve made for a good film. If she was unhappy with Marvel’s notes on the project, she could’ve stepped away from it like Edgar Wright did. It’s weird that y’all only do this with directors y’all like too
And yes I’m still gonna watch it, what does that have to do with anything

Yea I’m 100% convinced that Gunn is doing some ghostwriting for this movie .
I feel like he probably has a very specific vision on how he wants the DCU Batman to be, so he hired a writer and director who wouldn’t give him much creative pushback

I’m saying Marvel Disney sets directors and creatives up for disaster at time vs giving them creative freedom needed to create good movies . The constraints they lead to or requirements make not so great movies . Dc has done the same it’s why flash script and directors changed multiple times when it was originally going to be Rick directing or Michelle Maclaren Wonder Woman . Which continues to be issues with dcu of seeking a prop director or writer rather than let them truly tell stories

Exactly bro hiring based on that in all the movies so far
