I’m obviously exaggerating slightly when calling it a classic, but in a franchise that (in my opinion) has never really stuck the landing fully on any of its final installments (ROTS/ROTJ) I think it does the least worst.

I understand why it gets called out for being cowardly, and I had that opinion initially as well… I hated it! But over time I’ve grown to appreciate it as a pulpy adventure, very reminiscent of an Indiana Jones movie and it also works as a tribute to Lucas far more than I think a lot of people recognize.

There is barely world building in mcu just the same tired plot structure predictability and I can’t say that if James Gunn actually ran the dcu rather than rushing to direct movie after movie to avoid his dog and wife he could clear it

All I said was that some people take for granted how impossible the success of the MCU was, because we’ve now seen:

• one failed DC attempt
• another DC attempt that seems to be scrambling right now
• Star Wars which is in shambles
• Sony’s Spider-Man universe which was an utter disaster
• and other smaller franchises that have tried to start the concept and never even got off the ground

Would have been cool asf if the sequel was winter with freeze

The two Burton’s and the first Nolan are my favorites.

Everything after that is kind of a toss up.

I love The Batman’s first two acts but I think the third is catastrophically awful.

TDK is iconic but uneven.

TDKR has Anne Hathaway.
