It’s when artificial intelligence starts generating the writing and vocals that I start to feel opposed to its usage. We don’t wanna lose the human element entirely.

I agree. If Beanie is still writing the lyrics, etc., I'm not opposed to him using this technology to help restore his voice, considering it was ruined due to an unavoidable tragedy.
This is just about the best use of AI in music imaginable.

Our imperfections and limits are what make us human. I see this and fear a future where rappers and singers whose voices are fine get ran through AI filters to make them sound more like themselves. Lost your voice on tour? AI voice fix it in real time. I don’t like the thought of that. And yes this is obviously different than autotune which needs a human to set the plugin parameters and s*** etc
What are they going to train these random new artists voices on?

Jan 13crakcThe decisions that go into tweaking autotune are artistic because they’re open ended. There are a million different ways one can take it.
“AI”, which is just a marketing term, usually in this context means “using AI to replicate someone’s voice”. Replicating prime Beanie Seigel’s voice does take human technical skill but it’s not a creative decision. It’s a dumb novelty.
Restoring someone’s voice to before an injury is hardly a dumb novelty. Would it be a dumb novelty if DOC was able to rap again?
