yeah Help their first album with a big Dylan influence (both in folky introspective sound/lyrics and the fact that he introduced them to weed and it was their first album made as stoners)

I can only imagine the headaches you'd get from a bag of boof them boys was smoking

Help! gets a 5/5 score.
Having taken a step back in their sounds progression with the release of "Beatles for Sale", The Fab Four gets back on track and give us a worthy succesor of "A Hard Days Night". Everything that the beatles had done up to this point feels represented in this album. The early rock n roll of their first two albums, the catchy love songs and of course one of the best songs ever written, Yesterday.

this was described to me by an associate as the transtition/pivot piece of the beatles discog and i dont think anything else would suitable, perfect way to start off your artistic peak.

for ppm a big part of it was the mixing i didnt know about the stereo/mono issue going.

this is more my thoughts towards the 2nd album but that stuff is fun but for me specifally as a black american im gonna play the superior motown versions of the songs their singing.

very aware this makes me sound like a hipster, but it wasnt until i got the white album on vinyl that i actually appreciated that album

You should listen to the singles compilations, the most important one being the hey Jude album and the American magical mystery tour album that I think became the main version, or maybe just do past masters since that’s more mainstream

Oh yeah also probably the first George Harrison record, the imagine record, and the first wings record are all good things to listen to after as well

66-68 is where they had the midas touch and dropped nothing but heat from front to back.

If they included Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane on Sgt. Pepper than it could have been even greater, although I love how they canonized the US release of magical mystery tour and that is also a fine album in it's own right.

As others have highlighted I think for decades their earlier output wasn't as revered as their later creations, but now it seems (based on online spaces) that their earlier is getting just as much love and that makes me very happy.

White Album is where it's at for me. I always thought that TLOP was Kanye's attempt at a white album esque project where he had these half-cooked ideas and threw at the wall and saw what stuck. How the hell do you manage to have Dear Prudence, Piggies, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, Helter Skelter, and Revolution 9 amongst others on the same album and make it seem cohesive... it's just the coolest thing ever.

S/O George Martin for being a genius producer too.

Stay away from the 2009 remasters

I have an early pressing of Help in mono cos theres some slight differences. Hard to find in great shape but most copies are still playable

Rubber Soul i have in mono because the track separation on the stereo copy i had first was so bad

Revolver i have mono and the 2022 remaster which actually great but very bass heavy

Sgt peppers i have a mono early pressing which is really good but honestly i think i might get the 2017 stereo remaster soom cos if how good revolver is

Abbey Road i have a early pressing (-2/-1 runouts) which is by FAR the best sounding record i own

The White album i have a Japanese 1972 pressing in stereo which is incredible. Made me hear the album completely differently
