man tell me who was the first feature on this album.
the album was pandered to black old heads.
kendrick ain't wanna release something like it at first cause he knew it wouldn't get the attention he wanted it to so he dropped GKMC.
that's a more white pandered album than TPAB.
Melodic rap or I call it personally drip rap= wen niggas get melodic or start saying random bars, getting hype or just having fun on TRAP beats
Travis Scott
Lil uzi
Carti
Yachty
Later thug (2015 and up)
Mainstream migos
All the actual good “Lil” rappers
They ain’t trap artist but niggas hear the beat and throw em in the category
Exactly. I was confused af when I first heard uzi cause I went in expecting to hear something completely different than what I got after hearing he made trap music
That’s a good list
bro he rated jpegmafia higher than biggie smalls and nas

There also isn’t a sub genre name for this either. I don’t want to call it SoundCloud rap either
bro he rated jpegmafia higher than biggie smalls and nas
are you dumb?
nas is in the 10/10 list
where the f*** is peggy, dumb f***
What would you consider Drake? He just a Rap/Hip-Hop artist. That’s what Travis would be or just “mainstream rap” but that term is very wide, so they just another Rap artist. Carti I would call a Soundcloud rapper 🤷🏽♂️ But that’s more of a personal sub-genre I got 🤷🏽♂️
yea i get that but what genre do u call rodeo and die lit if its not trap
are you dumb?

Do you think jpegmafia's album is better than the biggie album you rated and why?
If vice versa then why as well
yea i get that but what genre do u call rodeo and die lit if its not trap
hiphop.
subgenre's make it too hard to discern what a song actually is.
I loved TPAB, and I hate the term "critic bait", but Kendrick did put most of these White publications on the spot with an album like that lol
Not saying they didn't really like it in actuality, but if they didn't (even if it wasn't for a racist reason), they would've risked a lot of backlash saying that publicly in that time frame.

Yooo I"M CRINE.
are you dumb?

my fault not nas just biggie
yea i get that but what genre do u call rodeo and die lit if its not trap

What would you consider NWTS or IYRTITL?
This is what happens when stuff gets mainstream tbh.
The popular stuff becomes trash, and suddenly everyone is "hip to it"
Best thing to do is just ignore music casuals. They don't make up the actual fans of the genre if they don't care about the history or the roots, and only listen to one type of it.
I see a lot of (and not just on ktt but other music sites as well) misplaced praise for hip-hop albums that take more influence from, say, dad rock and edm than hip-hop or soul/r&b
These same fans will call hip-hop music with roots in r&b and soul "generic" or trash even when it has substance
And I get it. A lot of yall didn't start listening to rap until it incorporated traditionally "white" music, so that's what you relate to
Gimme some examples, call em out
hiphop.
subgenre's make it too hard to discern what a song actually is.
Ehhh. I mean rock did it for 50 years I’m sure hip hop could do it aswell. I immediately know what type of artist and genre of rap they make instantly off hearing 2-3 of their songs
“Rap/Hip-Hop”
What would you consider NWTS or IYRTITL?
rap/hip hop as well
Trap music anything with 808’s and rolling hi hats according to who ever y’all referring to.
Afrika bambaataa, Egyptian lover and cybotron were trap pioneers /s
edm isnt a white genre originally, unless you just including now where the majority of the fanbase is white. but then so is hip hop so point becomes moot. donna summers and george mccrae was the start of it in the 70s with disco. neither are white lol
then when you look at certain regions like detroit, that s*** was popular in the late 80s with black djs and producers, not just whites. that sound was the main s*** there. hence why producers like dilla and such from there incorporate edm sounds and inspirations into their samples
yeah fantano and other critics tend to give higher scores to artists who are trying to further push the envelope of hip-hop and be more experimental. but artists tend to be acclaimed more when they either revolutionise or evolve the genre
Do you think jpegmafia's album is better than the biggie album you rated and why?
If vice versa then why as well
had to go back and drop biggie a rating
my scores don't really indicate whats better than what. its more of a enjoyment scale. but im not sure. i haven't listened to biggie in a long time.
They call Travis/Carti Trap bruh, this why I can’t take some of their opinions serious
no they make alternative rap lol
There are special cases like a uzi or Lucki that do blurr the lines
“Rap/Hip-Hop”
What would you consider NWTS or IYRTITL?
Rap/HipHop. IYRTITL kinda started that formula too of taking trap beats and getting melodic or baring up and not even mentioning nothing about trappin
