Why you quoting this now bro
Because I was looking through the first bunch of pages and saw that you wanted to contribute but weren't into silent films yet.
Well
it's decades later now

I've been purging my Imgur of the trillions of pics that i don't need on there anymore so that it's easier to find all my reaction GIFs lol. But I like going through my dust threads to reminisce sometimes and didn't want to delete all the pics I posted relevant to all the great conversations we had, so I had to slowly go through this whole thread as I deleted the Imgur pics.
also had to keep classics like this
Phantom Lady was great. Swear Elisha Cook Jr shows up in at least half the goat noir films.

What’s your fav of 1944? I guess I’d go with Meet Me in St. Louis or Double Indemnity depending on my mood

So far it's easily Ivan The Terrible PT. 1
Still haven't done Meet Me In St. Louis yet
To Have & To Have Not also a contender

I still need to peep Ivan
To Have and Have Not
that interplay between the characters is classic Hawks

St. Louis for sure
Love Hoagy Carmichael's low-key delivery
@RASIE @Fella @RVI
It's a classic for sure but tbh it doesnt crack my top 10 Hawks films
But there's a chunk of people i follow who all seem to rate it higher than me. Just never hit me as hard as others i guess. But im also probably due for a rewatch since its been several years

Yeah didn't slap quite as hard as last time I saw it almost 6 years to the day
but still turbo classic.
Love those Hoagy Carmichael songs though. Finally watched f***ing La La Land recently and the best part was when Emme Stone touched a chair in Goslings apartment and he was "don't touch that
Hoagy Carmichael sat on that once".

Modern classic
I aint got no shame in my love for la la land. It's the only chazelle film i've seen that really fired on all cylinders for me. Lightning in a bottle.
Although i havent seen First Man yet and a few writers i enjoy reading unexpectedly gave it high praise so im interested in peeping
