I aint got no shame in my love for la la land. It's the only chazelle film i've seen that really fired on all cylinders for me. Lightning in a bottle.

Although i havent seen First Man yet and a few writers i enjoy reading unexpectedly gave it high praise so im interested in peeping

    First Man

    Whiplash

    Babylon

    Cabin In The Sky

Gosling been my boy since I grew up watching this (like a Canadian Saved By The Bell)

I remember being shocked around the time of Half Nelson when people were mentioning in hushed whispers about this new amazing talent, Ryan Gosling

but yeah First Man one of the few times I was indifferent to his stuff.

another Laughton slapper dude doesnt miss. really tender and low-key performance for a character so racked with anger/paranoia.

Tootsie was priceless. That Halloween segment

Looked like something from like 1960, not 1944

Yeah it always stuns me how good that film looks, def an outlier of its time.

And yeah that halloween s*** is such a crucial little detour

Tall In The Saddle was great

One of the few good Wayne westerns between Stagecoach and his big 1948 Fort Apache/Red River/3 Godfathers comeback
