Its way too hard for me to pick one best movie of the decade. Even a top ten would require a ton of thought. That being said, I need to give a shoutout to one film everyone should watch.

    Annihilation

Reasons why I believe its a must watch are as follows.

1: the score: holy s*** this films soundtrack sticks with you. Its industrial and horrifying, but somehow mystical. Its a perfect representation of the film itself.

2: the imagry: this movie is one that sticks with you for literally years. Its horrifying, beautiful, disgusting, gorgeous, and all around shocking. Theres a scene midway through that involves a camcorder. I can remember every single moment in that scene, despite not watching the movie for close to a year now.

3: the plot: its an amazing story thats essentially 2 layers depending on how you a***yze it. One layer being what's actually happening, another layer being the metaphorical story. Its impossible to explain without spoilers, but my god is it good. Its somewhere between hp lovecraft, predator, ghostbusters and the babadook

4: The cast: Not only does everyone absolutely kill their roles, but this is one of the few action films out there that feature an entire female cast. Not only that, but the movie makes incredible use of this fact to tell a story that wouldn't make sense if the cast was male.

All around, I think this movie is a much watch film, and stands as one of the best films of the decade.

Denis is the goat but I just prefer Lanthimos style. It really facinates me the way he directs actors.

    SUPERMAN

    what makes Her so good

I like how it takes a topic that a lot of people would consider goofy (falling in love with AI) and approaches it in a way that's believable and predictive in many ways

Also love how it handles the question of what it means to be a person and how falling in love with something that isn't human isn't as weird as you may think

And for general stuff I really like how vibrant the colours are, setting is believable/realistic for something set in the future and soundtrack is sooo good
