thought i stumbled onto some great obscure stuff with The Roots of Chicha: Psychedelic Cumbias From Peru compilation. told my peruvian friend about it and apparently all the songs on there are famous af and he dislikes that kind of music/thinks of it as cliche
not able to find out which ones on there are 1971, that one was closest i can find from one of the main groups

well you've been marinating in dust for the last 40 years so I'm not surprised, and I'm not as relentless or consistent with my music intake as RVI probably is.

you guys would hate my music digestion methods tbh
only habit of yours (iirc) that i hate is the tendency to check out and enjoy an album or two but not move on to artists other good stuff

Nothing distinct enough for me to catch on and they didn't really share or over-play anything for me to remember. It was always just the radio in the car

current victims of this method: not listening to any pre-American Heartbreak Zach yet
Not listening to any other Wednesday albums yet even though I loved the one last year

dang thats crazy I thought everyone got their parents music forced on them. hearing just the radio would be interesting in its own way though, if its not as trash as the one station we had in my town.

Yup didn't really start taking music that seriously as I do til late high school
I remember Sheryl Crow and faith Hill
Shania was the queen. Even early high school, strictly hip hop head Elric would jam to her tunes when they came on

I thought I was early since I was printing out Wu Tang lyrics to memorize when I was 13-14 but then Shrek and some of the other posters started going in at 11 and 12
17 is when I started going in on the dust
