the definitive version of the one of the goat rock albums
u still havent got it yet
theyve been releasing a lot of Can archival live albums in recent years. i havent got around to all of them yet
due to the nature of their greatness they have a pretty overwhelming discog beyond the main albums honestly.
either totally expanding the studio versions of songs (which were just taken from jam sessions largely anyway), embryonic versions of them or just other random songs I never heard before
Search and Destroy is great, but Raw Power just isn’t my sound as a full record.
I feel you. S&D, Gimme Danger, I Need Somebody and Penetration are all god level and full sounding. the rest of it sounds like a different album entirely and is quite a bit more jagged, tinny and brutal than my taste.
Fun House blows it away as a whole.

just found out that the lightning strike on Bowies face isn't actually lightning but a crack in his psyche a la "Cracked" Actor and I got this s*** tattood on me
not '73 but all this krautrock talk got me digging up dust
dang missed this one not bad

both peak but Raw Power just has that extra bit of dirtiness and pure rawkin compared to the atmospherics in Fun House. Raw Power feels more like the peak of iggy's twisted vision on what rock music should be while Fun House is more hellish d***ged out result of the end of 60s
ever heard this strange outtake with bo diddley vibes?
top rock songs oty
Search and Destroy (Bowie Mix)
Dancing with the Moonlit Knight
Dream On
Tuesday's Gone
Time
bunch of assorted peak Zappa and Dead live versions
wait is that Time by Floyd or Bowie didnt even think about how they both have one yet lol
dang missed this one not bad
its worth a listen, even if the other cuts don't reach the same heights as sweet morning light.
Copious amounts of weed has been smoked jamming to this back in the day

theres definitely a really good song in Moonlight Knight if they could have just cut it down to the best bits and had Gabriel reign it in a bit

the first Gabriel-led part of the song is the best and one of his absolute peaks. Hackett delivering a mythical tier solo too. its a total prog wet dream
last 2 minutes of the song is basically an interlude setting up the next song though
yeah what an opus
Dark Side eternally one of the greatest combinations of music as an art form and commercial product. somehow peaking in each respect without either suffering at all which is a rare alignment of the stars

"Father, Father it's for the kids
Any and everything I did
Please please don't judge me too strong
Lord knows I meant no wrong..."

yeap certainly the most perfectly realized full package since Sgt Pep

the arrangement and his melody just get a little too busy for me

did you peep that Space Opera - Holy River I posted a few pages ago?
kind of a psych era Byrds tribute and the freakout part is mindblowing. i didnt check the whole album but saw people comparing to a psych/prog byrds or burrito bros

I don't know if a song ever felt like it was literally multidimensional before Time. Like it actually takes up physical space in the room when its playing
