did you peep that Space Opera - Holy River I posted a few pages ago?
kind of a psych era Byrds tribute and the freakout part is mindblowing. i didnt check the whole album but saw people comparing to a psych/prog byrds or burrito bros
yeah they Byrdsiness is uncanny. funny how such a brittle voiced frontman like McGuin could be so influential (I get why his guitar jangle was obv). I think he was probably the first hipster with those granny glasses too lol.
Speaking of Time, that’s my favorite off Aladdin Sane at this point. Used to be Cracked Actor, but he really needed to go into that hook once more.
Lady Grinning Soul is the one for me atp. so elegant and sinuous stately and imperious
Listen to his song Tumbling Down. Masterpiece.
giving the human menagerie a spin rn off the track you posted
just found out that the lightning strike on Bowies face isn't actually lightning but a crack in his psyche a la "Cracked" Actor and I got this s*** tattood on me
did y'all already put this together? @Fella
Looking forward to 74. Mick Ronson, Mott, and Slade have all time songs for me that year.
"aged 12, Harley was introduced to the poetry of T. S. Eliot and D. H. Lawrence, the prose of John Steinbeck, Virginia Woolf and Ernest Hemingway, and the music of Bob Dylan, which pointed him to future careers involving words and music"

Sandy Denny and Jackson Browne have really great albums that year too. Not to mention Radio City by my boys. It’s a really underrated year.

same and I grew up on a farm so the cowboy vibe was legit
his favourite was Tombstone. mine are Searchers and Once Upon A Time In The West. we used to argue endlessly about it.
