havent been able to marinate on all this Latin American music nearly enough
will sound weird but the atmosphere of tracks like this remind me of the first scene from Andrei Rublev transcendent levels of peaceful calm

well youll still be marinating on that next year because he didnt have an album in 1974. maybe thats time to go back and marinate on all the previous ones too
the marination process is lifelong

Los Van Van is great from the stuff ive heard so far. looks like they were important throughout a lot of eras too
We’re almost 2 weeks into the new year. It’s time to move on.

Loudon, Judee and Cockney Rebel songs you put me on ranking respectably
Did you listen to Roadmaster much? Always neglected it I guess because No Other is hot on its heels but it's a lowkey opus too. Grew on me immensely, finally.

Yeah it’s great. In a Misty Morning and Full Circle Song are incredible. I’m not as high on No Other as you are, but we’ve talked about that before. I still think it’s great though. I just struggle sometimes with the songwriting style. It feels so big and all encompassing, but I’m left slightly anxious as songs build and never release. Maybe I’m boring, but I like Gene doing more straightforward singer/songwriter stuff like For a Spanish Guitar.
Probably posted already, but I been partying harder than Neil Young at The Last Waltz over the month or twelve.
In terms of 1974.. we have a winner in my mind.
the good chicks like it
the bad chicks like it
the ugly ones like it
Maybe ressurecting Sergio Leone and making a movie about it might shift the paradigm 'cause he had the midas touch. Even gets his props for ripping of Kurosawa.

also Shooting Star
yeah the songs are lofty but they work. taps into the same feeling only Bob, Neil and Ray can for me.
Dude even said that,
"when I pass the embalmed process has already taken place"
Dude was dealing with the upper-echelon of plugs
