They still had #2 song of 1973 with Eddie on hiatus Diaper Man and the one white dude more than covered for him. But yeah nice to have him back.
Radio City revisit hitting rn
One of my most played albums of all time
was just about to post this
I can finally post this. So much of what Oasis is looking at in the 90’s is going back directly to something like this. So overwhelmingly anthemic in the way the best Britpop is, that I got a little chocked up the first time when I realized the hook was going to be as cathartic as it was. Like discovering a song that should have always been there. I destroyed my voice singing along to it for days.
While I’m at it, I might as well post a few more great tunes from the album. The whole record is an excellent cross section of glam, hard rock, and power pop of the time, but also the bridge between the 60’s British invasion and 90’s Britpop.

Dang nice one I hear it.
Slade look like the goofiest chads on earth but never fail to impress.
fantastic rework of John I'm Only Dancing. my favorite version of that song
Interesting where did you find this version?
Looks like it was recorded in 74 but not released till 79, so as per the Tonight's The Night rules we might have to consider it that years.

It's one Ryko disc (1991) version of Young Americans but technically you're right. It wasn't released until '79 (thought it was released in 74 but apparently it wasn't).
that or Who Can I Be Now should have definitely replaced that godawful Across The Universe cover but that is 75
Mick Ronson’s album overall from this year is very good, but I always go back to this one. Something about the drum sound (especially towards the end) and the melodic choices seem a decade or so ahead of the curve. Although it still feels very in line with the Ziggy Stardust era. Bowie wrote it and there’s a version with him on vocals, but I don’t think it’s anywhere near as strong. Ronson leans way more into it.
Phaedra title track is such a vibe man
but this right here is the one, one of the original truly great space ambient tracks
