you had the same thought as me, it really do remind me of a score I cant put my finger on...
I actually have heard Rock Bottom before lol, been a second since I've sat down and listened to it tho I wonder if it holds up
e: Sea Song
could be giving me distant flashbacks to Legend maybe havent seen it since I was a kid
and yeah Rock Bottom is unreal. one of the most transportive headphone trips.
actually Rock Bottom one of the best recs I ever got as well @RASIE already knew Soft Machine but might have taken forever to get to RB
I remember you posted a YouTube link of Sea Song at me and I got halfway through before I turned it off because I knew I needed to cop the physical and take my first listen much more seriously lol.

Genesis dropped a mystic masterpiece that took me years to sink in,went from a 6 to almost a 10/10. Gabriel's best performance with them and the compositions work in a much different way to anything they did before. Even though its still insanely proggy it partially points the way toward both further Genesis and Peter solo while still being totally unique. also one of the most esoteric concepts, still have no idea what its about
even with Steve Hackett being significantly less prominent now than previous albums, every other band member is at their top level

looking forward to diving in
how many other 10/10's you got for this year?
Carpet Crawlers deep tones from Gabriel, passionate emotional climaxes, harmonizing with Collins, evocative lyrics about some abstract s*** peak

Speaking of deep tone I'm not sure if I got to tell you that I enjoyed Over-Nite Sensation and Franks new voice quite a bit
Considerably toned down the condescending humor and grating arrangements good stuff
some other long prog opuses still going strong this year. including a mind-bogglingly 30 minute long Todd Rundgren one
@Elric definitely recommending getting on the Peter Hammill solo album from this year

Montana solo is one of his best ever
2 classics coming this year with Roxy & Elsewhere and Apostrophe. canonical live album (even though I'm not big on the last side and some of the crowd working annoys me) and one of his most accessible albums. and probably the best year for his live band ever. Roxy footage is his best live footage. the goat firmly in his peak
